PDK hesitation?

PDK hesitation?
I'm in the market for a manual 991.1 which seem to hard to come by. I had a '13 981 with PDK a few years ago and it always had a slight hesitation when taking off. Do the 991s with PDK suffer from this too?

Coming from a new manual C7 to a 2017 C2S with PDK. I love the PDK. I notice zero lag and it’s super quick and crisp on all shifts. I never use the paddle shifters since it’s always in the correct gear. Sorry, I can’t serve as a reference point with older PDK.

991.1 PDK hesitation yes.

991.2 PDK is the best automanual I’ve ever driven, hands down. It’s always in the right gear (sport mode) and hammer the gas, it’ll downshift to the correct gear. It’s definitely one of the fastest shifting gear boxes out today.

No lag whatsoever in my '13 981S.
I think a lot of people who have historically complained about lag don't understand that a PDK is not a traditional automatic with a torque converter. How it "takes off" depends on just what you mean by "taking off." If you floorboard it from a dead standstill, it will behave very differently.

My winter fun car is a 2013 991 C4S PDK, and all modern cars have some hesitation, it is drive by wire delay. I have a sprint booster V3 in mine, and no hesitation. I have one of these in almost every car I own.

Since buying mine (2014 Carrera) this past November I've wondered the same thing, almost (kinda sorta) like driving a manual. In the Sport mode it's a completely different story. R.

Happy to report that deadstop hesitation is fixed in the new 3.0 turbo motor. It pairs well with PDK.
All 991.1 and 981 cars I ever tried (a handful and owned 981 boxster) had the deadstop hesitation to some degree. I don't think its necessarily PDK as MT cars also do it... might be more to do with variable cam timing.

Had C2S since 2012. Never experienced hesitation. Others have reported it.
