just sayin. It might not be the case. But reading through this, it appears so.
I retired at 53. When I worked, I would get pissed. I don’t get pissed or stressed anymore. Never.

Im super happy with my car. If I wasn’t I would go buy new one.

The GTS is a better value by about 7k. The centerlock wheels are not available on the 4S. So why build up a 4S to GTS spec and pay more and still not have a GTS?

This is just about my favorite Rennlist thread ever! It's got everything! An innocent question, some helpful attempts to answer, an ad for a car that's been for sale for over a year, some condescension, offenses taken, defenses put up, and even someone bragging about how much money he has!

Whew! Good for you everyone - you did it!

I didn’t want center locks. I had to remove from GTS.
I drive issnow so I did not want SPASM.
I wanted leather so I had to remove GTS interior.

I wanted more power. Added PowerKit.

it was not even close to a $7k difference. It was about $2k more and the sales guy took care of me.

This thread was not about what what is the cheapest way to get 450HP.

I wanted to to know if there is a difference in the cars. Answer appears to be - No.

sigh.

Whatever you say man. I was being nice.

No idea what to say that won’t illicit some kind of defensive retort. So I’ll just sign off.

Enjoy the day.

Good2go. I was just busting your chops because you were busting mine in the other thread.

You car doesnt suck. It's nice and well optioned. The second owner is gonna howl at the great deal hes set up to get.

You made a mistake and it cost you some extra money. Whatever.. Money comes, money goes. In the grand scheme of things it doesnt matter.

Sleep well.

The power kit will bring the performance numbers to match or beat the GTS (S is slightly lighter). As for the looks, it’s all personal and I prefer the GTS; I like the overall pkg of the GTS as well. If you have the means/desire to buy a GTS, I would do it. The S will mever be a GTS and a GTS will never be a TT/TTS, though performance wise, they can be close with mods. It’s like Audi A6 guys trying out do the S6/7 guys and the S6/7 guys trying to outdo do RS7 guys, etc. Buy what you want if you have means and never look back.

He said he has a 4S, no weight advantage over the GTS.

The GTS also has less sound dampening, for a minor weight loss.

Or save some money and just what I did and go with the Pure turbo upgrade for my 991.2 cs...

Funny thread. Not sure what the point is, but I'll play.

I went back and forth between a 991.2 4S and a 4GTS and chose the 4S because I didn't like the black trim under the mirrors. Seriously. Then, later, I retrofit the X51 powerkit. It cost me more $ in the end, and I was still happier. You can spec a 4S very similarly to a GTS (and get the same turbos and ECU map), but the GTS is a better "value" in terms of option bundling. There are some cosmetic differences only possible with the GTS trim, and you can get the 12" (rear) centerlock wheels if you want 'em.
