Default Updated query. How many 991 owners anticipate moving to a 992?

The reviews are continuing to roll in for the new platform. Performance characteristics seem pretty impressive. I've heard such bold statements as' seems as fast as a GT3 RS'. All the driving reviews are pretty positive, but in a heavier more luxurious GT car that is just biding time waiting for the eventual hybrid gear. Curious how many of you guys are getting tempted to write a big fat check.

Not me. The 991.1 is the last real 911.

Already wrote the check... bought a 2019 991.2 because aesthetically I did not care for the 992 rear wrap around facia and redesigned interior.

I satisfied my desire to own a 911 in my lifetime.

Next? I am hoping for a 3.8 N/A in a 718 Boxster. Maybe one slated above the GTS and below the GT4? I enjoyed my 987 and want to go back to that size.

I've seen the early possible pics of the new TT/TTS and I think it looks quite good. Better than the 992 base and S. From the early possible pic it looks a little more aggressive and special. I agree the I'm not completely sold on the base or S looks but want to see in person.
Only problem is the TT & TTS are most likely 2020 or 2021 launches and the check is much fatter.

I agree with one of the comments about the 991.1 being the last of the pure 911s, BUT I absolutely love progress and evolution. The 992 is a great looking car, and the interior is exactly how it should be. The shifter is out of the way, the TECH is now in it, and its splashed a touch of luxury. I love it. For me, im holding on to my 991.1 and will probably look to add a 992, a coupe of years after their release.

Reviews have been very good. I can't stand the new interior (looks better on the Cayenne and Panny) and the exterior to me is only a mild evolution of the 991. Nothing about the 992 exterior design compels me to even remotely consider the new car. The full width spoiler looks kind of dorky (but that is not something I will see). Count me as a solid no, until maybe a test drive changes my mind.

I just wrote a big at check. MY19 C4S, SC, PSE, PDCC, RAS, PCCB, PowerKit... It's faster then the new 4S, and I think it looks nicer. Might be interested in a new TTS when it come out.

I think its a great car, but there was no good reason to wait. Options appear very limited right now as well. Happy to be driving now an awesome Porsche.

Default 991.2 for me

I waited to see what the 992 looked like. However, I knew I was going to get another Targa which is not offered in the 992 variant yet. So, I opted for a '19 991.2.

I do not like my first looks at the 992 interior. The exterior doesn't look that different from a 991. Probably gonna call the 991.2 good for a while.

I'll reserve a final decision till I see the real car. BUT based on the pics so far, not a chance!!
I feel the same as I did when we went from the beautiful 993 to the hideous 996.
But then I bought it anyway because it drove SO well.

I won’t be looking to move to the 992. Maybe the generation after that, though. I plan on having my 991.2GTS for a very long time.

Another one who plans on keeping a 991.2 C2s long term. My car ticks all the boxes for me. The 992 does not have any compelling new features and I prefer the look of the 991.2. I am sure the 992 will be great and if I was a new buyer maybe I would go for it, but I custom ordered my 991.2 and it is just perfect for me.

No! I don't need the car to tell me when its raining. I plan to extend my 991.2 S warranty to ten years when I approach the four year mark in 2020. I will next evaluate my options in 2026, when I will be 84 years old.
