Default Can Sports Chrono be added to 991.1 S ?

Hi all,
Looking at the 2013 991.1 S that lacks sports Chrono, can the "sports plus" button and related software be added now? The clock in the dash is not needed.

thanks!

I don't think it can be added after the fact because of dynamic engine mounts.

So it's not possible to add the rev matching feature on a manual?

Suncoastparts.com I added Sport/Sport+ to my 09 Boxster PDK. It has to be installed by a dealer. My dealer at the time matched the Suncoast parts price plus labor. I think everything was already in the PDK and they have to get an enable code for Porsche Corp. plus adding the two buttons. I love Sport+ when I DE. Based on what I see the answer is no.

Fitment: 2005-2012 Carrera, Cayman, & Boxster, and 2006-2009 Turbo models without Sport Chrono or Sport Chrono Plus

Not cost effectively.

Again, not the same car but I added it to my Macan for the sharper gear change. New buttons and firmware through the dealer. You won't get the SC clock and engine mounts for sure. Check a dealer or Suncoast as mentioned.

My understanding is that it requires sensors in the transmission for the rev matching. Never heard of anyone adding it - full disclaimer: I WISH it WERE possible. I have two 911s, both with manual trannys, one with/one without, & LOVE the rev matching (some purists decry it as ‘blasphemy’ (what else is new?), I call bunk. Anyway, lots of discussion on here about that - if you learn something new, please share! -Dom

why don't you email or call your dealer - am sure that would have the most accurate answer

Sure you can add it. You would have to overhaul your entire car. Cost $50k.

Could not get a straight answer from dealer, but based on the replies here and other Porsche owners it does not seem feasible.

Quick Reply: Can Sports Chrono be added to 991.1 S ?
