OK, my paranoia and boy scout attitude are showing here. But I can be within 50 miles of home and outside cell coverage. And even further away, I would not count on getting a tow truck response in less than 3 hours, even if I could contact them.

In addition to the spare tire, jack, and lug wrench, I have a handful of tools. Some of these have been in one or more of my cars since 1975.

Forgot lifehammer - we have one in each glove box.

Many years ago a friend was trapped upside down in her seat belt after her car overturned (she was passenger). Someone had to cut her out of the seat belt.

Good suggestion. I think I'm going to buy one of these for each of my cars. And be sure my kids know it's there and what it's for...

What is the silicone tape for? Can you please elaborate?

I asked for (and received!) the Porsche tool kit for Father's Day a couple of years ago. It's a really nicely packaged set. I have a woodworking hobby and I'm at a point where I will only buy "investment grade" tools that will likely last me forever (unless it's a unique item that I need for a specific project one time, in which case I'll make an exception). Similarly, the tool kit I expect to just keep forever and move from car to car. The cost of the kit has already been forgotten...

Wow, some of you guys carry a ton of stuff. And then we freak out when the 992 weights 100 pounds more than the 991.

Silicone tape will patch any line or hose and hold pressure.

For Christmas, I gave everyone one of these, pretty useful little charger:

Has a window busting tip, seatbelt cutter, flashlight, built-in batter, and USB charger.

Wow you guys are serious boy scouts. I have a tire plug kit. And in my center console is some chap stick, napkins, a few coins, and tic tacs.

Only a basic tire kit:
Tire plug kit
Pliers
Gloves
19mm deep socket
Extending ratchet
Antiquated porsche jack
Sealant (non porsche)

If anything goes wrong mechanically the probability of it being fixable roadside even with a gigantic tool box is quite minuscule.

I’ve used an air pump on the side of the road, does that count too?

I have a big spares box for my defenders. Basically anything that bolts to the engine or goes in an axle or is anywhere in the fuel or ignition or computer system.
