Guy asks if he can just use 2 channels of a 5-channel amp. Rennlist ensues…

Glad I had the same question. Gave me new clarity.

Hey, I have this water cooled flat-6 turbo engine and was wondering if it will hurt anything if I use only 2 of the cylinders and specifically with the same fuel I run in my 2-cycle dirt bikes? I mean I'm not an idiot, so I wouldn't add oil to the fuel mixture, but can someone please just answer my question without going off on a tangent about what kind of tires you prefer in the desert?

I'm simply *shocked* that the great Pete Stout also haunts TGP. I'm "Porsche993" over there BTW :-)
Longtime guitar amp hacker...tubes, of course.
cheers!

Since I have 2 CATs on my car, is it ok to only use one to reduce the wear and tear on my car? Trying to preserve the OEM equipment so that I can obtain blue ribbon certification during 2057 Pebble Beach.
Thanks in advance.

Okay, this thread has gone way off-topic... anyone who knows anything swaps out just 3 of the 6 stock 12AT7s only on the left cylinder head with Mullard 12AX7s... make extra sure you get oil temps up over 180 before mashing the throttle because those tubes need to be nice and warm or you'll get feedback. Oh and you don't stick with the stock GE 6v6GT on the PASM strut travel sensors (I was surprised how much I liked the Tung Sol reissues since they don't ever clip - even over potholes). Porsche must have a lot of new old stock in their inventory.

As for TGP…I was digging around for some info on an "NOS" JL Audio amp I've been meaning to install in my 914 (the amp I installed in high school is tired...). I can see TGP is quite the rabbit hole…oh dear.
I prefer the purity of drums, actually…
