2017 991.2 Wheel speed sensor faults 3 times a month
Hi all,
I have a 2017 991.2 base mode (CPO only-month-old new to me 21,450 miles on it )
I have been struggling with an ABS / PSM fault/steering lock fault/parking brake fault
It has 2 times a month now.
Any suggestions or ideas are welcome.
Thanks

It happened to me once after exiting a steep driveway at an angle (to avoid scraping the front lip) as described in the above tech bulletin. Does it happen to you when driving normally or after entering/exiting a driveway?

I don't understand what you're not getting here. You have a service bulletin describing exactly why it's happening to you, so wouldn't you think the problem isn't your car, but the driveway? I'm willing to bet if you get a new car the same thing will keep happening.

I agree with what you are saying but at the same point a recurring fault that can only be reset at a dealer would be quite aggravating. Heck I live 100 miles from my dealer. I would be livid if I had to keep driving up there to clear that fault. They need to engineer a system fix for this if it is a known fault.

I agree that a consumer should not have the burden to have to go to the dealer every time this issue happens. My dealer is great but I don't want to see him once a week for this. Frustrating...

I know this is an old thread, but since I didn't see this information anywhere else, I wanted to follow-up to state that I was able to clear this fault in my 991.2 with a Foxwell NT710 OBD scanner tool. So that probably means other Porsche scanners such as the POR II can do it as well.
I seem to hit this fault about once every other year, so not nearly as often as some others report, but still enough to be super annoying when it happens. Previously I always had the dealer fix it, but this time I tried myself. Bought the Foxwell scanner for this purpose (though I'd been intending to get a good OBD tool for a while).
Clearing this fault took two passes, since a lot of the systems had "Check PSM fault" errors that I couldn't initially clear. But after clearing what I could including the underlying "Front right speed sensor, implausible measured values" fault, then turning the ignition off and back on and making a second pass through the faults, everything cleared up nicely.
It's possible I could have done it in one pass if I knew what I was doing. Next time I'll try...
