White 911... PPF or Not?
#16
I have a Carrara white and the front end is covered as well as the side view mirrors and impact areas to the rear.
Unless you get really close, you can't tell it's filmed. It was done before Atlanta delivery by Porsche NA and they did a good job.
I'm glad it's on.

I voted for I do not have it installed - for my 991.1 GTS cab in agate grey. But...I am getting a full wrap and nano coating for my incoming light ivory GT3 Touring. I see both sides to the debate.

Do it. otherwise once you see a rock chip you'll regret for not doing it properly from the beginning. I've been down that road and did it immediately after taken delivery of my T. If any, I would almost say to do it the whole car to have a safe of mind not worry about getting rock chips or ding.

I have Full hood Suntek on my (Sapphire Blue) Macan 3+ years & looks clear & new.
I just got Suntek Ultra on my Agate Grey C2S. Looks great!
Does not look different PPF fender vs. door with no PPF.
My cars are garaged. I also use Meguiar's ULW. Maybe that makes a difference?
Does PPF protect?
Even if the damage to PPF is too much to self heal, replacing the film is cheaper vs. the repaint job.

Highly recommend it. Just make sure your installer is available for you to return for possible trimming (peeling on the edge lower front), and touch up - I had a nice rock "tear" on the hood. He shaved it down for me.
Also follow the manufactures guidelines. I know everyone's wax, sealer, & cleaners supposedly are "OK" to use, & do a good job & will not damage the ppf. My wax looks just ok. I purchased the XPel Cleaner & Sealant. The cleaner works good. The sealant... looks showroom quality!! I was seriously blown away. It has that nice pearl finish.
This should go without saying, if you get the front get the FULL front, not partial front / hood. They say that 95% of your damage will occur towards the front. I have seen 2 white 911's with the partial hood. It just looks ridiculous. I don't know why they offer it.

Simple. If rock chips don’t bother you then save your money. On the flip side, if the thought of rock chips makes you sick to your stomach write the check.....because you WILL get them on the front end and in front of the rear wheels. Was an easy call for me since I want my car to stay looking new as long as possible and PPF is a difference maker. If you are asking the question then you need to do it in my opinion. It means you DO care!
