Default Buying a CPO 2017 991.2

Are there any known issues for the first production year of 991.2? I know there isn't too much I need to worry about since the car's CPO warranty is good for another 4 years and I'm not planning to keep the car after that. But I'm just curious.

Water pump leak is the only one I'm aware of.

Why are you saying you are no planning to keep the car after the CPO? Just curious, not implying anything negative; however, you can get an extended warranty if that is a worry.

"Are there any known issues for the first production year of 991.2?"

Well, it does go faster than the 991.1, and that makes some people sad.

LOL - that is pretty funny. We'll probably feel the same way once the 992 is out (even if you don't like the look).

Depends on the model of course.

True - I am already looking at 991.2 GTS models. I thought my base would be enough but I need a little more zoom zoom. Gonna have to hit a dealer to try out the GTS soon.

If you have the money get the GTS, which I what I did and I never wake up thinking that I should have bought a S or Base.

That’s true if you want alcantara and centerlocks.

Haven't looked beyond lusting for a GTS. Does it only come with centerlocks? I've seem plenty that delete for an unfortunate extra cost, the Alacantara.

All of the 991.2 cars have excellent performance. My 2019 Carrera T only has the base Carrera 370HP engine but honestly, it’s very powerful and more than enough.

I own and drive cars with 700HP and the truth is you really can’t appreciate that level of power on the street. A base 991.2 with PDK is a sub 4 second 0-60, 12 second quarter mile and 180+ top speed car. Super car stats just a few years ago! Those are incredible numbers and the 370HP car is just as fast as the 991.1 Carrera S which has 400HP from the last of the naturally aspirated engines.

The 911 is more about the complete car. For me, getting a well balanced and equipped car was more important than engine bragging rights. Remember back in 1970 when an air cooled 911 only made 125HP and 130 lb/ft of torque. It was the driving dynamic of the complete car, and rest assured that all 991.2’s will bring you that pleasure. I would recommend that you get out a drive a base, S and GTS and evaluate the engine and driving dynamics. I think you will find that exercise very helpful.

I just think it is kinda of fun jumping to another car every few years. I'm currently owning a 2015 981 Boxster and I'm very happy about how the car drive and how well it handles daily duties. I test drove a friend's 991.2 and found the extra power is really appearing to me despite of inferior handling. (sorry guys) I've never owned a car that does 0-60 under 5s and I think this is about time.

not only that, but I understand you can easily tune a base C2 to GTS power levels?

I understand. I have owned over 50 vehicles and I am 55 and I love trying as many as I can during my lifetime. I used to have an idea of what I wanted to get next as soon as I got a new one but that changed when I recently got my Targa GTS: this is the first one where I cannot foresee what is next, if at all. So give it a try and maybe you will be like me.

Leaking water pump, strut mount misalignment, and maybe some interior creaks/rattles dealing with rear pillars or seats. Some report turbos not boosting high on top end. I'm sure every car will have a few quirks and its not perfection. Overall pretty solid where it counts.

There are 'sounds' I wouldn't expect that sometimes make me think something is wrong, but they don't appear to effect functionality at this time. Its mechanical beast and its not attempting to hide it.
