Default Targa hitch / bike rack options?

Thinking about ordering a 2019 Targa. Does anyone know if you can fit an invisible hitch to permit a bike rack?

I live in Jersey City just outside Manhattan and the roads are terrible. Cycling would give me an excuse to drive outside and get some miles on the car

Roads here are pretty terrible

You don't need cycling as an excuse to drive the car. Once you get it, you'll want to drive it everywhere.

I have seen these used before, and they work...I just don't know if they will work on a Targa (not enough "space")...and I know that I wouldn't want to accidentally drop my bike (even though they are SUPER light) on the Targa glass...

I am with porsche_nuts...you will not "need" a reason to drive your car...I made the mistake and took 75 days off from working...95% of that time was spent behind the wheel just going places...

I was thinking something like this would work on the back glass.

I am sure it would...I would just be very cautious putting the front fork on...shape aluminum edges and glass don't mix well...

BTW Dan, did you order your new car yet?

No, I decided to wait on seeing the 992 so I cancelled my build spot. If I don't like the 992 when I see it, I'll turn in my car (leased) and look around at options. I thought about a Lotus Evora, but leaning toward finding a nice 2017-2018 Targa. I am going to look at a black one at the local dealership tomorrow. Oh, I forgot, I am going to win the PCA GTS Targa.

You can't go wrong with a '18 Targa in black...but I am biased...and good luck with the PCA raffle...

PM'd you.

I'm taking that to mean no hitch option 👍🏻 had a 997.2 previously so I understand the urge to drive; you may not understand how crappy getting out of Jersey City is 😃

Those sea sucker things make me super nervous

Wow, I have a very different opinion. To me driving a Porsche is a way to have fun going to have fun. I put a roof rack on top of my C4S so I could carry my cross country skis, snowboard, mountain bike and road bike.

If I really want to have fun driving I take the car to the track.

SockToy, have you considered the stock roof bars? Or a Ritchey breakaway? Depending on plans, a cool bike that could fit in the frunk.

I've used the seasucker racks for years on my 911's.

Road bikes are so light now that you'd be doing something quite wrong breaking the glass.
