Pebbles caught between panels
Hey guys! Recently bought a new to me 991.1 Carrera S. Loving the car even though it's winter here in Chicago. One thing I've noticed that I find kind of odd and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue is I keep finding pebbles/bits of asphalt getting caught between the front fender and side rocker panel. It's especially annoying since it seems like once I reach highway speeds they break free and hit the car.
Here's a pic of the rocks and a diagram of where on the car they get stuck. Hoping some people can chime in on the issue. Thanks! https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...87f59481c4.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...7f15aef578.png |
Place a strip of clear PPF on the inside of the lip of the fender blocking the open space ! My fenders are covered with PPF and I don't have your problem . |
Wait until you gently pull down and check under the corresponding panel in the rear. You'll really be able to add to your rock collection.:)

Those are common traps for small stones and debris. Keep cleaning out. Anything doable to avoid just don't make it look worse. Doesn't damage anything stuck in there just annoying.

Mine get pretty bad... this is in front of the rear wheels. I first started to notice it bulging because there was so many rocks jammed in there! Mine is a 2017.. but I also live in the country on a gravel road so expected I guess. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...4971ecfdd.jpeg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...71fb3d78f.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...d4ab033da.jpeg |
