Noisy Pirelli Sottozeros vs Michelin Alpins

I have 20" winter Pirelli Sottozeros on my new C2--the car and tires now have gone 2k miles--and they are unbelievably noisy on some pavements. I just returned from two back to back 400+ mile days--sadly on Interstates--and my ears are still ringing. Are the Michelin Alpins also very noisy?

God bless,
TT

Nowhere near as noisy. Not even close.

Glad to hear the Michelins aren't too noisy. I may change to them sooner rather than later. The Pirellis are fine on most pavements but they are brutally noisy on some stretches of Interstate Highways. So noisy one can't even hear people talking on the radio.

God bless,

Just installed Alpins yesterday, smooth and quiet, very pleased.

I have a set of the Alpins in my basement awaiting the arrival of my GTS. Hoping the summer tires are MPS4S and not the Pirelli's too.

Alpins are super comfortable, I prefer them to summer tires

If you are not driving on ice or deep snow, I can recommend the RE980AS Bridgestone all season tires.

I have them and have been driving around below freezing and they are great. They are also about half the cost of sottozero or alpins. Also they are very quiet (can’t really hear any tire noise on my GT3).

Thanks so much. That's a great recommendation.
