Default Tires on 2019 4 GTS?

I walked the local dealer lot today. They had quite a variety of cars with various options. Great to see the in person and not just on configurator. It always fun to see non standard builds. I noticed that the 2019 Targa 4 GTS has Pirelli P Zero tires. The 2019 GTS coupe was wearing Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. Don’t know if it a C2 or C4.

What would you expect to find on a 2019 4 GTS coupe?

Thank you in advance.

I'd expect the Michelins. Porsche made a changeover. Only thing I can think of is that it depends on the production date.

Most .2's should come with Michelins.. My .2 GTS came with pirellis... 2017.

Not sure about the 2019s but the 2018 GTSs came with either Michelins or Pirellis, somewhat randomly (various build dates had either tires). My 2018 came with Pirellis but I know at least one other build that was at 2-3 months before mine that had Michelins.

Thank you very much for the input!

I have read a bit and watched a bunch of yt vids on the Pirelli P Zero and Michelin Pilot Sport 4s and seem to have an opinion based on the various opinions.

Which tire would you prefer? Don’t know if it makes a difference but I’m the Denver metro area but I will have a dedicated winter wheelset since this will be my daily driver. Wife’s Volvo XC90 will be used if accumulation will be substantial. Thanks again.

Both are Porsche N-spec tires, which you get is luck of the draw as both are factory fitted. When you get a build sheet order thing (I forget what it is called), you can decode it and determine tire make. It used to have the brand, but now it has a code.

Probably won’t make a difference, but I’ll ask the dealer to request the Michelin then.

Thanks again to everyone. It’s nice to find a friendly, high traffic forum!

They can’t request tires. It’s luck of the draw.

I know in the 991.1 era.....

305 rears were Pirelli and the 295 rears were Goodyear.

Like most auto manufacturers, Porsche will have more than one tire manufacturer. Inventory is "just in time". So, whatever is next in line is what you'll get. Porsche has been using either Michelin or Pirelli on the GTS models. Either tire is good. Mine came with Michelins...yes!!
