Default Winter tires for those with rear axle steering

Can someone explain why Tire Rack is indicating that Michelin Alpin PA4s are not offered for the 991.2 with rear axle steering? Using 11in Carrera S wheels with 295/30/20 rear tires. Why would RAS interfere with this setup?

I’m not even sure why Tire Rack has a drop down menu to determine whether or not RAS is on vehicle. I’m hoping someone can explain how or why a winter or summer tire could be acceptable on a 991.2 without RAS yet end up a problem with one with this option.

RAS requires 20” wheels, which isn’t true of non-RAS 991.2s. I have a set of MAPA4s just delivered from tire rack to go on my inbound 991.2 GTS (with 11.2” rear wheels and RAS). I checked with Damon from tirerack before ordering.

Doesn’t RAS require a less wide wheel/tire setup?

Nope, just cant use 19 inches wheels ( unless you add spacers).

GTS can come stock with 12 inch rears with RAS

I think RAS cars just can't encroach upon the suspension components very much, if at all, when choosing offsets for wheels. I plugged both the Turbo S 12" and Carrera S 11.5" wheels specs into a fitment calculator and the Carrera S wheel offsets actually move the face of the wheels outward slightly, producing more clearance. So in choosing offsets for aftermarket wheels, I would think one might be able to use the inner clearance of the Turbo S wheel and the poke from the Carrera S as known safe measurements.

Or maybe I'm way off in my "math" here. Wouldn't be the first time.
