You’re correct Bob, my dealer had an allocation that was nearing its freeze point, SA went in Porsche’s ordering system and amended what was originally a black, highly optioned, stock vehicle and changed it to match my requested configuration. It’s all about timing, I just happened to move at just the right time. Love my choice however, viewing your posts on your ordered Miami Blue Targa helped push me over the edge in placing my order. I bet it never gets boring whether it’s your first order or your 10th, the experience is quite exhilarating. Wishing you well with your beautiful ride.
That's awesome. I had a similar experience when I bought a BMW several years ago. I had a unique build spec I wanted. Signed the papers on the order and went home. Got a call a short time later asking me if I was completely positive I didn't want to make any changes. Told them I was certain. They had an allocation going into production the next day. They sent the spec change immediately and BMW picked it up first thing in the morning. Ordered my car October 10th and it was delivered November 14th. Now I'm spoiled for life when it comes to ordering cars. Kinda like when I put my first house for sale and the first person that looked at it bought it. The next house I sold took 21 days. Felt like an eternity, but 21 days is still better than the 60 or 90 day average for our market.
