Correct. One early car built for marketing was later given away to a member (drove it in Atlanta for Panorama, but couldn't bring myself to push it as I'd been encouraged to since someone was getting it as a cherished possession—and didn't see a need to as it was so similar to a GTS). The other 59 cars were sold to 59 of PCA's 70,000~ members if they "won" the chance to buy one…no bad thing given the prices the 997 and 991 Club Coupes seem to trade for on the used market vs "regular" 997S or 991 GTS coupes. I believe the marketing 991 Club Coupe is one model year while the 59 are another.*

*More Club Coupe pub trivia: PCNA built a 997 Club Coupe prototype with everything but the Powerkit engine and the interior door plaques. I remember both cars because I tested them as a new car for Excellence back to back with a real 997 Club Coupe with the Powerkit engine (we were more interested in the character of the X51 engine). I've wondered what happened to each of those two cars, but one of them is still at PCNA to this day. Still remember those north GA roads…and the light for the cover shoot. https://www.excellence-mag.com/issues/144

Nice pic, and nice spot. Remains one of my favorite places to eat in our great state...one of those "there's better food out there, but I've never had anything less than a great meal" kind of places.

My apologies to OP Robert Linton for hijacking his thread. The pro photos of his Club Coupe (in his immaculate garage!) are terrific.
I've had my CC for three years now and it's been to just about every state west of the Rockies (18,000+ on the odo). In those 36 months, I've taken a few hundred pictures of my car in various scenic locations, but the pic at the Baja Cantina in Carmel Valley has been a favorite.

And, yes, Pete Stout...the first 60th Anniversary Club Coupe was a model year 2015. That's the car that PCA toured around the country and was finally given away by PCNA. The other 59 CCs were all model year 2016 and were first offered to interested Porsche Club of America members who were able to "configure" them to their own preferences. A small number of the original 60 cars have changed ownership, but the majority of them remain with their original owners, I believe. Fun fact: only 20 of the 60 Club Coupes were ordered with manual transmissions.

Hat tip to Manny Alban and everyone at PCA for all the work they did making this exclusive model come to life. I love mine. It's an amazing car and the color is an immediate star at any car gathering.

Thanks Leader. I have been spending quite a bit of time in Carmel by the Sea and I'll have to drive out to Baja Cantina. My blue car is in IL.
