GT3 vs Targa 4S vs GTS
Which car do you think would have less of a drop in value over the next several years?
2015 GT3 - $125k - 15k miles, buckets
2015 Targa 4S - $115k - 11k miles
2015/16 GTS - $99k
Off the top of my head, GT3 would hold value but they made so many and we don't know the final numbers on the 991.2.
I'm not looking for an 'investment" just taking a pulse. I'd rather not buy a brand new Turbo S and watch that value drop like a rock.
Next I'll ask about the best oil for the chosen car...... ha

Whats with all the "Holding Value" threads going on. Is this insecurity about purchases or have the folks from Barrett Jackson invaded the forums looking their next auction cars. Who buys a sports car based on what you can sell it for vs how much fun you can have with it? Must be the winter blues.

GT3, if you can stand the harsh ride and lack of options. But it's quite possible that the GTS with the $25k difference invested during this stock market correction will do better over the next few years. The 4S does nothing for me unless I have to drive it in Winter or often in the wet.

I don't think the 991.1 GT3 will be as strong with the engine issues. It will plague like the IMS/RMS on 996 and early 997.
If you're shopping by this criteria though just get a base Carrera since you clearly don't have a preference and aren't shopping for what you would most enjoy.
Smiles per miles > depreciation

I'd choose the GT3, GTS, Targa in that order.. That's me personally. They also go in order of lightest, lighter, heavy and fastest, faster, and fast in that order.
The GT3 with buckets I like but it can definitely be bothersome as a DD for others.

I think you should hedge your bet and buy one of each.

Different cars and the question you need to ask are, how will I use it and where to I drive it?
GT3 - if you go to the track often it is the best tool, not a DD driver and the ride is not for Chicago city streets
GTS - sporty, lots of HP and torque and will feel faster in normal driving than the GT3, order it with 5 lugs vs center lug.
Targa - great cruising and DD driver, nice on sunny days, great looking car with silver bar and will garner looks from the opposite sex.
