SS,
While you count down the minutes to your T arriving, there are some pretty good shots and videos posted in Stout's original T review - see first link below. There's some other reading here on T's too.

That list will keep you busy and away from opening another controversial "T" thread any time before your car arrives.

Starting with the professional reviews.. (Stout's required reading ...including 911T and GTS in the South of France)

Its actually old. I recall seeing it maybe a year ago.

Nonetheless...isn't he saying the T is just marketing fluff and more or less a base car?

Are you not entertained!?! So disappointing...

- Thanks BO! I've actually read all the content, and much more, but really appreciate you posting such a comprehensive listing of things T. I know others do as well. You know nothing makes the wait easier, but just a few days now... You the man!

- Again, I am glad a couple of you have seen the video previously. I hadn't, nor apparently had some others. I know the splash screen is actually from a different video (and one that I had seen from about a year ago...), but the content was new to me. If it applies, you're very welcome.

- Like choosing to cast shade or being a troll or taking the bait, you can make up your own mind about what the content said, or find a post controversial or not. You won't find me posting my self-entitled opinion on that, or attempting to label someone a fascist, or threatening to show up and scare someone in my Terminator inspired Halloween costume, or dredging up the trite old "just marketing hype!" line... I'll leave that for others. And those posts are there, if you care to find them.

- Imagine, being self-indulgent on a Porsche forum? In a 911 thread??? Shocked! Shocked, I say! Couple of you homies need to not quit your day jobs, unless you actually are psychologists, in order to pursue that line of work through attendance at the local CC. Stick to posting on the internet, its going to be much more lucrative... and fulfilling.

-sgroer said it best above, I think: "If I could pick one car to keep forever, the Carrera T is the one...". Thank you, Sir! (and for the HOEGH BANGKOK updates!) Understand your GT auto has been released from purgatory and am psyched for that. I plan to join you, Soon, very soon...

And you don't even have yours yet and have any real world experience. Hope you like the car and not just the hype.

Amen!

And I am not religious and it was not a Terminator inspired Halloween costume.

I have driven every one of them hard in the mountains and / or on the track.

If I could pick one car to keep forever, the Carrera T is the one. It's the closest I've come to all around automotive perfection. Easy and fun around town, an absolute blast in the mountains. The base brakes are weak for track work. The PCCB (which my car doesn't have) might be worth it with the weight reduction and brake improvements.
If you love the T that much, you should really try a GTS. Its a Wide Body T, with more grunt and more of everything.

I don't hate the T. I love them. I might buy my daughter one. Its a great place to start. I'm not fooled by the hype. Its a stripper, with some nice options available. (Gorilla Glass). But its a nice cheap, entry level 911. What is not to like? It's a great car. But it is what it is. Entry Level. Nothing more, nothing less.

What I've learned from the T, and it's eye opening, is that "more of everything" is not necessarily what I am after. I've driven several GTS's on the track and around town.

Performance is far better in a GTS. The charm of the minimal package, with the unique and awesome interior, rear steer, manual, etc just works for me. Agree it's partially marketing hype, but I'm not sure that matters if the car feels so right to me.

I also got my T - 116k msrp for 97k pre owned with 45 miles on the clock. Being under the $100k is a psychological barrier for me where I am just not as stressed driving the wheels off of it, rain or shine. When I want to go all out I'll hop in the 3RS and let it rip. The T is livable , all around fun without the drama and cost of some of the more upmarket 911's.
