Cheers! Please share your feedback on the intercoolers when you install them!

I absolutely love the look of the Akra diffuser. I didn't care for the bland plastic piece that Porsche slapped on a 6 figure car.
Awesome, thank you for updating us! Your mind isn't playing tricks on you - you should hear more turbo sound as a result of the freer flowing catalysts. The diffuser looks great as well!

I had my diffuser painted to match when I ordered it, which helps the look.

A canned tune will never be as good as a custom one. Canned is conservative and for the broad market. Stage I COBB whilst great on a relatively stock car (as meant for stock car), needs improvement as you add more bolt ons.
I track a lot. Stage I was pulling timing as soon as the car got hot. Adding 2 gallons of E85 stopped this, but the trims need to be increased before running more. The beauty of COBB has never been in their maps. Its the access port. The ability to store tunes and change between them.
That is the real power of COBB. I will want a Full 98RON (93 OCT) custom tune. Then an E15 , E30 and E50 tune for racing. Having the ability to swap back to a normal fuel tune is important as not all tracks have E85. When you run dry, you need to switch maps, and usually to get home. They should release Pro-Tuning the same time as Stage II. Which makes Stage II obsolete instantly for those that will custom tune.

Love the Akra diffuser. I never wanted to loose the GTS black tips either. My Akra Cats are on the way, should be here in two weeks now. I am thinking the Matt diffuser. I will run that for awhile, whilst considering the Akra cans.
Its very difficult to gauge volume on clips. SO I want to see how loud the Akra cats are before going further. I have headers as well.

OP Stage II COBB is out for C and CS, not GTS yet.

I also purchased the Akra diffuser for my GTS. I have not installed but it appears the exhaust openings are larger than stock. Is there any alternative tips available that are larger that may fill the void? Thanks

I’ve asked this question at the shop where I had this (and cats) installed and was told that the best option is to get Akra tips (same ones that come with Akra pipes). The tech thinks the attaching point on the Akra tips are oval shaped in which case, won’t fit the stock muffler. When I have more time, I’ll look into it. Let me know if you find a solution. As it is, I don’t think it looks too bad but filling the gap would be ideal for sure.

Painted diffuser looks nice for sure. On chalk, I wanted more contrast on the butt area but that cheap looking black plastic diffuser didn’t cut it for me. Porsche should take some design lessons from Audi.

If I find out something on alternative tips I will let you know for sure. The stock tips are nice but I don’t like seeing the stock exhaust muffler “silverish” between the gaps between the diffuser and tips.

When I drop the exhaust to do my soul cats and diffuser I was thinking about painting the rear facing section Matt black or even the whole unit. It may help to optically fill in the gap. Does this sound silly? Has anyone already done this? If so what product and did it hold up against the heat.

thanks

I thought about painting the muffler black myself but probably won’t just because I’m getting lazier by day. Case in point—I was going to diy the cats, diffuser, and air filter but didn’t. I’m willing to replace the tips myself and do my own oil changes though. There are paints that will hold up in extreme temperatures.

I've painted my entire muffler section flat black before. Attracts less attention from the cops, especially at night where headlights can reflect off a nice and shiny stainless steel muffler. I just cleaned the muffler with brake cleaner first to get off any oils and used bbq flat black spray paint from home depot. If it can hold up to bbq grill temps, it can hold up to muffler temps.

Dang! I seem to be constantly treading in your foot steps... maybe I should cough up and get someone to install. Out of interest how long did it take your shop to install? How much did they charge? Thanks

Seems like I’m not crazy

I have some high temp paint already but I was also wondering about the adhesion to the muffler. Seems like it’s not a problem as yours held up ok.
