Just Ordered My First Porsche
Hi there from Plano, Texas!
Just want to intro myself. I'm pretty new here and really new to the Porsche world. I'm so new that until 4 weeks ago I had never ridden in a Porsche! I'm not new to high-performance cars - I have been involved in drag racing fairly high-powered Ford Mustangs over the past 10 years and that's been a blast; however, I wanted to get another car for a daily and it had to have big-time refinement so that led me straight to Porsche.
With some help from BobZ, I was pointed in the direction of an allocation for a 2019 Porsche Targa 4 GTS and I jumped on it. I think it's scheduled to build in April and be here sometime late May. The current config code is PKU3XKI9 but that's likely to change at least a little.
While shopping around Texas I have driven a 911S, a Targa 4S,and a 911 4 GTS. I like the little extra ooomph from the GTS but couldn't get away from the Targa looks so I think the combo of the Targa and GTS fill the bill just right for me.

Congratulations on your new Targa! That's going to be a stunner in GT Silver.
Now you have time to nest and go crazy with buying all your Porsche goodies. I know I did!!
Enjoy in good health!

Congrats! Waiting is tough but if you buy something for your Porsche and spread it out over time, the wait is a bit easier. I just took delivery 3 days ago and it’s worth the wait. Enjoy the ride as the saying goes.

Congrats. Great build. Consider the free option: “PDK shifter in brushed aluminium.” It’s not quite as much as an upgrade as it is with manual trans, but I do think it is nicer than standard (and it’s free!).

I hope you enjoy your first Porsche (I just bought # 42 ), I had a few of the 80's targas (back in the 80's) and the 991 model is the first modern targa design I have liked. Enjoy, and welcome to the club, may this be the first of many.

Thanks for that tip - I had not noticed that little freebie. I've added that to the list!

Really nice build! I too fell in love with the Targa and wanted atleast the power of GTS so got a Targa GTS. Perfect Porsche for me as well. So many variations it is cool to get the one that fits your wants/needs specifically. Enjoy

Glad to help Levi, and keep the questions coming via email if they arise...P-cars are not just cars but a hobby as well.

Great build. I'm partial to GT Silver. I like the rear spoiler, wish I'd ordered it. Suggestion, get the guards red seat belts. The dark cockpit needs just a little POP. Enjoy the wait, it'll be worth it!
