Light Weight 991.2/Weight Loss?
My 991.2 gts is pretty much "bare bones" which I wanted. No sunroof, manual seats, no bose, but does have ras and fal.
I'm debating on converting it to a more track orientated car and wondered what options were out there to shed weight? I'm thinking of removing the insulation under carpet, removing all lining in frunk, removing windshield washer reservoir (who uses that anyway), rear seat delete, and somehow get light weight door.
My goal is 2999 pounds. Am I crazy?

Seats, light wheels and exhaust tend to be pretty good items to help lose weight. That being said, I have learned my lesson trying to make "dual purpose" cars for the track and suggest considering a dedicated track car and keeping your street car intact.

exhaust-15lb-if u go titanium
wheels-20lb
seats-20lb?
No seeing where you will get 200+lb unless you strip out the radio, sound deadening plus a bunch of other mechanical stuff. This is a huge project.
Just out of curiosity what does your car weigh now?

Like what others have said here, these seem to be areas where you can save some weight. If you get the carbon buckets, HRE's and a titanium exhaust, you can easily rack up $30k. For that money, I'd find a cheap 996 for ~$15k, and strip it, put a roll cage in and make that my track car and leave the GTS as is.

Do you have PCCB? Standard headlights?
The car probably weighs 3300lbs plus now if not, 3260lbs plus with PCCB. Just a WAG of course.
REar seat delete, Mag wheels, ti exhaust might get you 80lbs. Then it starts to hurt more than your wallet.
LWB or race seat (but stock belt and no cage), Radio delete, AC delete, carpet and interior delete and remove all sound deadening, remove airbags, cup doors, plastic rear windows everywhere but the windscreen, lower dash delete, remove everything in the frunk etc. you might get to under 3000lbs. If not, start swapping in carbon fiber panels starting with the frunk lid.

Rear seat delete, lightweight battery, magnesium wheels, LWBs, PCCBs, carbon hood, titanium exhaust and cat bypass etc.
Get a dedicated track car with the amount required for all above and keep your GTS for normal track events and road usage.

The FAL unit is pretty damn heavy.
I put on HRE R101. I shaved nearly 8 pounds per corner worth of unsprung weight. Steering feels better than before. I wish I had PCCB which would eliminate way more unsprung weight.

Replace that heavy badge on the frunk with the factory decal version when you discard the tire pump, flat fix stuff, wheel lock key (if there is one) and contents of the glove box.

HRE R101 Lightweights that come in at 17.2 lbs || 20.2 lbs respectively in 19" Centerlock. You knock off close to 30 lbs of unsprung weight which equates to removing about 100 lbs elsewhere.

Unless your driving capability is at the absolute limit of the cars performance I would suggest your time and effort would be better spent improving your driving skills. If you are in fact at the cars performance limit then have at it.
