No way, the lack of tq in the gt4 would put me to sleep when driving on the street.

It definitely doesn't have those turbos, I think the gts is 3200 pounds listed so that's with all the lightweight options spec. So if you don't have PCCB you're already heavier, add weight for the FAL and RWS - I like the idea of 3000 pounds though.

Well yes you are sort of crazy to want to strip down newer GTS. But getting car to just under 3000 shouldn’t be too tough. Lightweight forged wheels, lightweight battery, lightweight cats and muffler, pull rear seats, get lightweight recaro race seats, lightweight aluminum hat rotors if you don’t have pccb. More? Can you do without AC? Radio? ....pull radio , amp and speakers. Converting to lightweight aluminum body coilovers should shed a few lbs. ....really insane? Pull out airbags and replace oem steering wheel with lightweight Momo wheel. Pull all insulation out. Get a front hood carbon fiber skin and pin it.

Always the best advice, because you take that speed to any car you move onto.

But, assuming you really just want to make this car more enjoyable as you see fit…

^ Good list. You could also look at Perlon carpeting like RSRs of old—and ultra-light motorsport doors from RSRs of today. Lightweight rear windows (all three) and roof from current RS WP would be something, as well. If you go with Cup doors, I'd keep the A/C—as a car without A/C is an extremely limited-use car.

I wonder how light a base 991.2 C2 might be made with such a regimen. The CTR in my avatar was (and still is…) insanely fast despite its 2600-2700 pounds and 469 hp (some say 500). It wouldn't be all that hard to get a 991.2 Carrera/T/S/GTS into CTR power numbers.

FlSupraGuy: I'm enjoying the h*ll out of my 991.2 C2S with X51 PowerKit. I've owned 10 Porsches, and this I one is the best, by far.
IMO, u should look at Cargraphic downpipes like i just had installed at BGB - AWESOME SOUND!! Better than most any DE Porsche of any model or year, with quicker turbo spool up and less weight. Then the lithium battery and rear seat delete. You could also go the lightweight windows route.
And don't forget your own personal weight. e.g, if you are 6'1" plus or minus and you weigh much more than 175-185, a lower carb with very low sugar diet or similar might be the way to go, along with more exercise if needed.
And the future is bright - just this week the world's first titanium wheel was 3D printed!
And don't forget - never fill up to more than half a tank of fuel - another cheap way to weight reduction.
Enjoy that GTS!

As stated by Windblow... we have a 20% discount for Black Friday through Cyber Monday on our RS-30 Lithium as well as everything on our store... which is the best we offer all year. Depending if the GTS has the H6Group 48 size battery you save 35lbs... but if you have the H7Group49 Battery its 44lbs...not sure what the GTS has it in.

If you interested in learning more about Lithium batteries we have a 25 page thread on the GT3 Forum and we did a Group Buy a while back and we sold about 70 batteries to the folks during that Group Buy so you can also do some research. But I answer a ton of questions about Lithium and go over all aspects... but its a long thread... Located here. https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...for-2-gt3.html

To get to that weight you'd have to strip out the turbos/intercooler/associated plumbing, and then probably what you listed for good measure.

A .2 GTS weighs less less than a .1 GTS.

991.1 3,241 to 3,395 lbs
991.2 3,197 to 3,352 lbs

Try again slow boy.

As a weekend car and at times a DD, how much risk do I put myself in running out of charge? Without that powersaving feature it has.

Can I swap Cobb maps without having to hookup to a battery tender?
