Im surprised at lack of 991.2 track car project threads. Not as if this car doesn't have decent aftermarket suspension support. I see all bits and pieces required to upgrade suspension arms, swaybars, coilovers, brakes. Ira over at Tarret knows all stuff that bolts on. Guess for me tires and wheels for autocross and hill climbs are my biggest challenge as not much detail on how much wider we can go on narrow body cars. Id love to put 325 265 tires on my car. Just unclear if I have enough room to do this as I havent seen much in way of wider tire and wheel setups for 991.2 narrow bodies. I have a Carrera T coming and plan to do some mild suspension upgrades and slightly bigger tire and wheel if I can get them to fit. then maybe a mild tune for just a little more power.
Learned alot of go fast stuff building my Cayman. Im less inclined to keep secret however. I love sharing "secrets". Like did you know double a arm suspensions from GT# race cars bolt into 991.2?

I track a 991.1 base Carrera (3.4) and love it. Wheel studs, brake caliper studs, center radiator, sabelt bucket seat and harnesses, GMG roll bar and seat base, ohlins road & track coilovers, Carrera S front brake calipers, gt3 pads, girodisc, etc. I could only imagine having a 991.2 on the track. I’d want nothing else other than a gt4 lol!

That's a great looking 991! I am sure she great on the race track, I have a 991.2 carrera that I have done a few HPDE with so far, looking to upgrade it further for track use but also to keep its daily abilities. So far I have done APR stg1, DSC v3, soul exhaust/sport cats. What kind of wheels are you running?

Burning Brakes
I may take my 991.2 S out to Area 27 next season, it's a power track, and this is something my S2000 lacks . My 911 is pretty much stock. If I continue to take my 911 to the track, I'll likely upgrade to better pads but for now other than fresh brake fluid, is it okay to run the car as is? Stock alignment okay?

Took my 991.2 GTS to Area 27 this year. Ran it completely stock (minus a tune) on P-zeros. Was able to chase down and pass a 992 4S and a C8 easily and consistently. Tires showed even wear across the treat, was expecting them to be toast but that was not the case. Didn't get to the limits of the brakes, but it was my first time out there and had no interest in going off track.
Was an AMAZING time!!!!! and would go again in a heart beat The facilities are fantastic and the instructors were top notch.
The track was fantastic, and VERY challenging. Between turn 2 and 3 was able to get up to 230+ kph (142+ mph). On the front straight it was nerve wracking going into turn 1, which was totally blind as it dove down out of sight, and you didn't see the apex until you were late in the braking zone. No doubt that with more time that you would be able to carry more speed into turn 1 and carry more speed through that corner and see a higher speed at the end of the long straight.
There were a total of 3 completely blind corners that I didn't push the car as the chance to toast your car were real, and you were completely dependent on the marshals to let you know that it was clear. A wrecked car would only be known if the marshall was flagging it.
I was on a stock alignment, and with my limited driving skill it was more than fine. If you are a better driver pushing the car you will definitely appreciate a better track oriented alignment.
Have a great time.

Check list for track newbie.
1. Alignment is everything.
2. Castrol SRF - Don’t argue do it.
3. Tyres are everything.
4. Endless ME20 - Unicorn best all round pad.
5. DSC Sport controller is a no brainer.
Pirelli PZero are Poo.
Cup 2 minimum - Great all rounder
TrofeoR - Better at track
Cup 2-R when your advanced wanting PB’s.
I boiled stock brake fluid the first week i had the Car, on the street, on a mountain run.
I Disintegrated brand new rear pads in 3 x 20 min sessions because i didn’t know to turn traction control half off. Its so much better half off, and then when ready, full off is pure.
Do not run full on, or you will toast your rear pads.
Get an alignment. I am now -4.4 front and -3.5 rear.
The car was transformed at -4 front.
You don’t need to start there, but minimum -2.5 front. More if you have any tracking history.
Don’t forget to bleed tyres down.
Which mods do i have? All of them now.
See 4.0 Mod thread.
