Just looked at this exhaust on the GMG website so is your system going to bypass the side exhaust and just going from headers into the GMG. And you have to disable the PSE electronics?

Yes - I was't using my side mufflers anyways. When I took the AWE off and put my PSE back on, I left the vacuum line disconnected so the PSE was on al the time and not using the side mufflers. The PSE is just too quiet. Hoping the GMG is the right sound for me. GMG states that because they use center mufflers rather than resonators like many others on their x-pipe, the sand is deeper and smoother. I'll let you know, as it arrives on Friday. I just finished pulling the stock exhaust off.

Did you have a AWE switchpath exhaust on your car? Are you switching to a GMG? I am thinking of ordering a new exhaust. I like the stock sound with PSE I just want it louder overall and to retain the burbbles and pops.

Yes - I had the AWE SwitchPath on for almost two years - just got tired of the sound. Wanted something deeper while retaining the overrun burbles and pops. I heard a couple of sound clips from the GMG, and I think it is what I am looking for. Will know for sure soon.

I had the AWE switchpath installed on my previous C2S and loved it initially. However, it became too much in terms of the sound and decided to sell it. When I got my .1 GTS, I did not go back to an aftermarket exhaust but did install a set of Fabspeed sport headers. Now it sounds deeper than the PSE and gives it an extra roar which I love.

In for updates on the GMG exhaust. I also like the sound of my stock PSE but would like it better if it was just a bit louder.

How much louder is the AWE system over stock? I heard about 30% louder is this accurate? I am ok with loud but don't want obnoxious loud or drone.

I had a sharkwerks on my 991 GT3 which was nice but not too loud in my opinion.....

You'll find that any catback system won't net you much in regards to a notable increase in performance. The headers are really where the power comes from, and also offer a nice improvement in sound at the same time when using high flows cats. We are in the midst of catted header development for the 991.1 and should have a solid performance gain out of those. Otherwise, software will net you the best return on investment.

Didn’t you have 991.1 headers with cats? Could of sworn I saw them for the GTS.

We made one set for a local customer, but never had them for sale publicly. We're kicking things up on the primary tubing size/routing, merge, cats, the whole shebang

Finally got the GMG installed - it arrived without hardware so took some time to find the right clamps for the tips. I really like the sound. It is loud when in Sport mode, but not as loud as the AWE. It is also significantly deeper in tone. What is odd is that there is a noticeable difference in volume and tone between sport and normal mode, despite the fact this is not a valved system. If I keep it in normal and shift around 3,200 RPM it is perfect for cruising out of the neighborhood with out raising attention.

The sound is definitely what I was looking for. When I rolled into the Porsche Cars and Coffee last weekend, I had multiple people approach to ask about the the exhaust/sound and one enthusiast stated it was the best sounding water cooled 911 he had ever heard. Plenty of snarl and pops on decelerations, just at a MUCH deeper tone than what I was getting out of the AWE. I'm very happy with the new system, despite not getting hardware. The construction of the pieces, the welds, and the tips are all of excellent quality.

Is this the same for the 991.C4S with PSE ??? Looking to get some more defined sounds (pops/crackles) out of the system..I haven't seen too many topics on PSE equipped exhausts mod / upgrades to enhance the sounds other than a new full exhaust.
