Default Another water pump leak

Brought in the 2017 GTS for an oil change. 10K on the odometer. Dealer called me and said my water pump had a small leak which they will be changing under warranty.

Tomorrow will be 1 week at the dealership. I'm having withdrawals right now and I'm beginning to question why this is taking so long. I was told the car would be ready on Monday and it's Thursday night. I followed up this past Tuesday and they said it would be ready that day..

My SA who I have a close relationship with has been replaced by a new guy since I dropped it off and I was told he's in "training".

I'm fearing these guys have called someone from Porsche to inspect my car due to it's mods (headers, bypass pipes, Cobb tune).. The Accessport is in the glove box. Is Porsche flagging my car or is this all in my head? I can't wait until tomorrow morning.

In your head. They might have needed a few days to get the pump in stock.

Mine took a week because they were out of stock. Seeing how many of these go belly up, I don't understand why they don't just keep a sh*tload of them handy.

Had mine replaced under warranty recently also. They found coolant residue in a couple of the vacuum tubes and had to order those so it took some time. They would have to spin quite a yarn to argue that any of your mods influenced your water pump in any way

Also had my water pump replaced under warranty - looks like a weak point for sure

Anyone tracked water pump failures on 18s and 19s? Maybe sticky time with a poll.... 17/18/19

When I took mine in to have the water pump replaced it took them a week due to having to order the part, so that is pretty normal. Not sure why they would keep telling you it will be ready when its not though. They gave me a loaner car until it was fixed, so I was driving that around.

I just got back from the dealer.. Boy was I wrong

Apparently once installed, the car needs to sit overnight and then the following warning it needs to go on an extended test drive with all operating temps met.

SA told me I had a severe leak. I only smelled coolant once and it was faint. No pics of the leak unfortunately.

Without even asking or complaining the SA offered me a $350 spending "spree" in the gift shop for my troubles.. He explained I shouldn't have waited 8 days for an oil change and a minor repair.

Got myself a nice Porsche travel bag, a 911 computer mouse which has tail lights that illuminate, a hat, and a lanyard... Not a bad deal at all!

I didnt get/want one initially because I only came in for an oil change which was supposed to be done in 1 day.

This was another reason the SA let me take some goodies home.

Usually I get a base Cayenne which is nice but not really my cup of tea.

I’ve presently got a 19 Cayenne as my 17 base gets a new DME. The Cayenne is nice, but also not my cup of tea.

That's the new gen correct? I got an 18 which is the previous gen.

The SA had a device on his desk that looked like a wireless charger. He said that he can place the key fob off the new Panamera and Cayenne on it and it will display a bunch of stats including CEL's.

It’s the new one. The new screens are nice, but kinda weird. Also, the buttons and UI is a lot of clicks to get to things that were a single click on the old version.

Pretty sure this is exactly the same setup as the new 992...

My leak was intermittent and wouldn't do it when I took it in, so I took a video of it the next time it happened.
