Default North Carolina Porsche dealer experiences?

Any feedback from members in NC? I’ve had a couple of truly bizarre encounters with the dealer in Durham and the one in Greensboro. I was also shafted by the dealer in Cary who promised to call me back about an allocation trade but never did.

Ordered a 2019 C2S from Virginia Beach and was just notified that it’s built and will arrive in 5 weeks or so. I couldn’t be more pleased with that dealer but I live near Durham so I’m looking for the positives and negatives for Porsche of Southpoint, especially regarding their service department.

I’m also in the market for a set of 20-inch wheels for a .2 C2S for all-season tires to run over the cold season.

I bought my 991 from Porsche Greensboro and it was decent. Not amazing, but nothing bad.

Purchased at Porsche Greensboro....ok. I didn’t steal the car and I did almost get a kiss....service at Porsche Greensboro...meh.
Service at Wilmington Porsche is so far top notch.

I had my GTS serviced at Southpoint a few times and all went well. It was routine stuff, replace a flat / ruined tire ($50 because I purchased the wheel and tire insurance), and 1 year / 10K service (free as thrown in by my salesman). Also had the voice command software installed for free as I ordered it, but the factory was not installing it at the time my car was built. That took a few phone calls, but again, not too much hassle and got the job done. They also washed the car nicely every time.

I also purchased the car there. I put in an order at the end of January and the car was delivered in June. I got a decent but not screaming deal and a fair trade-in.

Overall, I was satisfied with my various experiences with the dealer.

Purchased a 2017 911 GTS from Southpoint in Aug 2017, probably the best new car buying experience I've had in 40 years. We will definitely try them again for our next Porsche purchase.

I like Paramount/Greensboro. Don't like Hendrick at any location.

Hendrick seems to price high and not do anything on the propaganda list of things on their inspection.

Greensboro doesn't give cars away but really takes the time to go through them. I've looked at cars for other people here and this has been consistent. Foreign cars Italia in Charlotte is owned by the same group but would not buy a car from them...

So far as service goes there really isn't very much that needs to be done to new Porsches. Oil changes, brake fluid flushes and inspections aren't much. Southpoint recently lost their service manager and lead mechanic which disappointed many of us. Brooks is a service advisor that we like and treats us well and their prices are better than Leith. You need to know what you need to pay if you're going to Leith and they do have some top notch mechanics and ask for Gary when you go in to have him write up your order.

Service at Hendrick Porsche in Charlotte is very good. My Porsches have been serviced there for over a decade.

I've used Leith Porsche for purchase and service for 30+ years. Never any problems.

I bought my GTS from Leith and had it shipped out here to Norcal, the entire process went great. They fulfilled and stood behind all of their representations/promises!

Its an older post... Nonetheless, my recommendation for others is you don't have to buy from a local dealer...you can buy from out of state and this opens up options. I personally didn't like any NC dealer, especially in the RTP area who all were pedaling overpriced used cars or no discounts nonsense...sketchy and dishonest. Further away from the 'rich areas' you can find dealers more reasonable (Hickory, Wilmington, etc).

Leith is probably best for service. I'd stay clear of Southpoint...bad experience with them. My understanding is they've had lots of changes, but I still would never trust them with my car.

Agreed. I found a good deal on an allocation in VA. Spec’d out a Carrera S just as I wanted. No RTP or Greensboro dealer will ever see my car unless I bring it to Cars and Coffee. They are proven liars.

Stay away from Hendricks Charlotte for any service work, They overcharge and don’t perform the work they say they do on the invoice. Very unprofessional service reps as well. Their sales department have some good people but their service department drove me away
