Should Rotors be cleaned? Drums?

New to this forum. Just picked up a 991.1 turbo. I had 2011 ZR1 previously. I would spray the wheels with Sonax before I went through the touch less wash. Wheels and barrels were alway perfect.

Touch less... ew. I just saying that because of the amount of cheap products those use.

Yes, and yes.
I use a MasterBlaster. First, I blow out the rotors and calipers while everything is dry. After the dust clears, , I wash everthing with just car soap and water (a properly coated wheel [RejeX Wax or Optimum Gloss Coat] does not need a fancy wheel cleaner). Then blow dry with the MB.

Not to worry. Asbestos has not been an ingredient of brake parts for many years. I'd be suspicious working on NOS brake shoes from the 50's and 60's though.

I'm not an expert and the statement above is just my opinion. I'm very particular about what products I use on my Pork...

Recycled water blasting dirt into the paint, dirty filters, cheap soap that strips wax off, the "spot-free rinse" product is nothing but silicone which leaves a residue behind, high pressure water pushing dirt and salt deeper into the nooks and crannies, issues with PPF, etc.

Not sure where you go (or don't) but I've never had wax stripped, spot free doesn't leave a residue,, if PPF is done properly with no visible edges you'll be fine. I don't but i'm pretty sure the best detailers around use pressure washers. . I hand wash twice a week in the summer and whenever possible in the winter. No touch 1/week in winter if I've been driving on wet roads.
