Default Very pleased with the tires

I could not be happier with these tires, great value. The reviews about tire noise are over blown, coming off P- Zero’s which were worn, these tires are much quieter. Love the ride too, very smooth through the subdivision driving over the expansion joints.

The tread depth is significant, if you’re on the fence - don’t be. These tires will be on a ton of 991’s very soon.

Nothing wrong with Bridgestone. I've had them on all my cars except the current 911 since it is still on P0s. Many like Michelin better, but I like Bridgestone equally well.
For some of us who follow F1 long enough it is clear that performance-wise #1 is Bridgestone, #2 Pirelli with beloved Michelin being #3.
Once P0s are done in 7-8K I will take a look at Michelin and Bridgestone..

If the latter: Winter tires will outperform all-seasons tire on cold, dry pavement due to rubber compounds. Winter-tire rubber is specifically designed for cold temps whereas all-season rubber must be able to handle all temperatures.

I run PA4s in the winter and they are great.
+1. Surprised anyone runs All seasons all year on a 911.

I live in Northern New Jersey. I recently purchased the RE980AS as replacements for the Pirelli PZero. First impression is the ride is a little harsher going over bumps etc. as the sidewalls appear to be stiffer than the Pirellis. I also noticed that rocks still tend to be kicked up but not quite as bad as the Pirelli. That was one of the main reasons for switching to AS plus not having to rotate to winters. Overall, I do like the ride and feel of these tires and would recommend. I have a 911.1 C4S.

I',m thinking of getting these to run year round in Seattle. For 4 months or so we have lots of mornings in the 30's (but rarely under freezing), and in the 40's - 50's in the afternoon on the way home. Lots of rain and wet roads.

Seems like a good solution for this climate - yes?

Just an idea, but try playing with air pressure. I’m running cold 36f and 38r, made the bumps much smoother.

I just picked up a CPO 2014 911 Turbo S yesterday with brand new Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires fitted. Should I really expect dangerous driving when the temperature drops under 32?

Well before that, even in the 40s they will be getting quite slippery, especially with the torque of a Turbo S. You can actually damage the tire in subfreezing temps.

How does the sound level compare between the two tires? I know this is difficult to judge as worn tires with thin tread are always louder than new ones.

Yes, should be.
I've had AS/3's and DWS and they are significantly better on our cold wet roads.
May try a set too. I've also been fine here for years on cars with summer tires and even NT-01's in the cold, you just have to remember what you're on.
