Looking at a 2012 991 cab PDK.
I can across a well equipped launch car. MSRP $132k. And drove a simile 2013 today. Amazing car.
This would be a second car for me. My main concern is will the PDK keep me "interested" and what kind of gremlins can I expect in a early launch car. I watched Nick Murray's nightmare situation.
The car is a 2 owner, clean carfax with good dealer service history.
I welcome some input.

My first 991.1S was a used launch car, 2 years old with 7,200 miles on it. I kept it for two more years and traded it in with 19,000 miles on it. Other than the usual problems for 991.1's (change over valves) is was pretty much trouble free. If the PPI checks out and the price is right (and condition is acceptable), I would have no problem jumping into a launch car.

Have been driving a 2012 991.1 Cab S for two years and have had no problems. Did the 40,000 mile service this January, complete with oil analysis, and received good reports in all areas. Early launch vehicles seems to be holding up well if maintenance history is good. Would recommend purchase if price is right.

I went from a 996 C4S with a 6MT to a 997 Turbo with a 6MT to a 991 Turbo S with PDK. While I miss rowing the gears on rare occasions, I'm really happy with PDK. I have the sport steering wheel with proper paddles, and I think that's important. I drive in manual mode 90% of the time or more. It's still very engaging, it's just different. I recommend it.

Thanks for the input. This particular car seems to have been well taken care of. Regular service. Price is $68,900 which seems good, not great.
It has the multi function heated steering wheel, so no paddles. I guess that can get swapped out if it's a must have for me.
Manual trans in the 991's seem scarce. Especially well equipped ones.

Then again I'm getting older.
Having said that it's actually the PDK reliability that would concern me out of warranty as these transmissions can't be repaired, they need full replacement.

If you’re happy with the price then go for it.....I would make the offer conditional on a PPI. Spend the $300 and get a good PPI. You’ll sleep better.
