Default best way to seal off GTS matte black rims?

Took me a good hour and half to clean off all the brake dust today... What's the best way to seal the black rims to make cleaning it in the future easier? Gonna have ceramic pro done for the car, but the guy at the shop said it's not as helpful for matte black rims like these. Any ideas?

Check out Dr. Beasleys.com they have some products for matte finish wheels. Also the wheel woolies are a great cleaning tool.

You can use a coating for matte finish paint. I use Gyeon Q2 Wheel. Best thing is a coating.
Dr Beasley is great cleaner for matte wheels. Won't keep brake dust from accumulating but it does clean extremely well.

Armor All Brake Dust Repellent Tested

Written by Johnny Hunkins on May 5, 2016

I use this on my track wheels and it helps a great deal. Dust doenst stick as much and the dust that does wipes off easily.

Test article is a good read.

To my way of thinking, FWIW...
If theyre dirty with brake dust you need maximum lubrication when cleaning with wiping action(soap and water) OR if they are coated/sealed you should be able to safely soap and foam them them, then blast with water to clean the $hite off-otherwise by wiping youll continue to dull the finish and even more will stick to them and the surface will also look more "dull". Just like paint that is dirty, you want to apply minimum pressure to maintain the finish and slickness.

I gotta laugh at this thread. I chose black wheels for my 991.2 GTS because they hide the brake dust. Doesn't make much of an optical difference whether I wash them or not. I've mostly given up, except for the red calibers, and the outside facing black bits, and those just with chemical guys waterless wash/wax.

Sorry I meant brake not break!

Been thinking about coating it with dr beasly,.. as besides the cleaner they also offer a matte wheel coater. Has anyone tried ceramic coating these black rims? Do they actually not work at all or just less effective than on regular rims

also I too thought black would help with hiding brake dust, but instead when the rims get dirty I just get this ugly brown dust covering the rims which is even worse than the dust on regular rims ugh

hurricane I know u got ceramic brakes on yours, been regreting not optioning for that lately...

I had mine off the car & ceramic coated prior to delivery..so nothing to compare the after-experience to.
Brake dust still sticks to them. Cleaning them may or may not be easier. What really takes time is wiping them dry so they don’t spot IME

So it sounds like you would not bother ceramic coating them again if you had to do it over? A good coat of wax will make them easier to clean.

I just don’t know yet, but I kind of think you’re right Bob. It was $500 and the calipers were done too.

At the risk of further beating this dead horse, let me describe my “wheels only” wash that I just completed-Took about 30mins
-blast wheels w hose
-spray my soap mix (50/50 w water) over surface w spray bottle. Let it dwell on wheels.
-rinse off. At this point I really could no longer see brake dust on them.
-wash w hydrophilic sponge(Home Depot tile dept)
-rinse
-go back around washing the inner dishes
-rinse
-drive around the block hitting brakes firmly to clear rotors of water(prevent rust dust later)
-blow everything dry
-wipe w Aqua gloss on microfiber
They look perfect. The ceramic coated calipers really seem to not need “washing”.
