As said above, ios12 and waze beta still a no go to CarPlay.
I'm trying to find a way to get into google maps beta, seems people were invited based on their local guide level.

And has a terrible interface (for me). I just prefer Maps and it still has the traffic info which is really all I care about.

IOS 12 release was today, which allows third party map and navigation apps to interact with Carplay... Still up tp to the companies providing the apps to make the necessary updates, submit to Apple, etc.

Got our update today for Korea! We use kakaonavi here and the app is updated and running like a charm on CarPlay !

map shows on the main screen and turn by turn directions on the phone’s screen.

Pretty cool. I’m so happy my main screen is finally going to see some more functional use time.

Rumor is three weeks or so. Seems quick since the Beta app just came out.

Just came out less than an hour ago. Update your device to iOS 12 then hit the app store to get the update to Google Maps. No Waze yet. I won't be able to try it out until Thursday - someone let us know how it is!
