Default 991.2 Oil filter

So I found the OEM filter at Suncoast for $32-47 and on Amazon for $18, both appear to be the same? Both come with the filter and O ring, but only the Suncoast comes with a new oil plug. Assuming we must replace the plastic oil plug at each oil change? Also found the OEM plug for $5.00.

Amazon: MAHLE Original OX254D4ECO
Suncoast: MAHLE OX254

I assume they are the same, but as the saying goes, "assuming is also the mother of all F-UPs"

Okay, edit, I believe you need to replace the plug too, they cost $5. Well $23 beats $46.23, Suncoast's shipping $14.00 WTH?

I love me some Suncoast but I love my money more, next time Amazon @ $23 with free 2 day shipping. Just a heads up to others.

thanks!

Amazon: MAHLE Original OX254D4ECO Oil Filter
Suncoast: MAHLE OX254
thanks!
IMO, you might get away with a few oil changes on that plug, without breaking or leaking, if you are gentle with it. You might want to get one to have on hand, JIC.

I have ued the amazon version of the filter and have bought a set of 4 plugs for like $9 on amazon ( although I just reused the plug the first time I changed the oil).
Plug is quite durable.

So is the basically MAHLE makes the filter, is there ANY difference between the OEM Porsche filter at $21 and the MAHLE filter with new o-ring at $17? I will assume no issue as far as warranty?

It is basically the same filter, only one it more expensive that the other. Been using the cheaper version for years with no issues.

You are pretty safe with these filters. In older cars or car with the spin metal filters that has valves inside it was an issue since some of the pressure valve would work at different pressures depending on the manufacture. These do not involve that type of complexity. I usually buy from the OEM manufacturer. ...or another reputable brand.
