Replacing mahogany wood trim

I am very close to purchasing a 991.1 c2s. Everything is great about the car except it has my least favorite interior trim...mahogany. Friends are advising it's a simple fix to wrap the trim and I shouldn't let this stop me from buying an otherwise desirable car to me. Anyone have any experience with wrapping the interior trim or changing it in anyway? Is it no big deal like I am hearing?

I don't know how difficult it might be, but Suncoast Porsche parts has all kinds of trim accessories available. Check and see if they have what you'll need.

You may want to think about removing it and selling it, or trading it with someone that might like to have it.

Fairly easy to do...I did it in my SL550 (which had wood as well). One thing I will say, you will be able to tell it is wrapped...if it bothers you, just sell what you have, use that to offset the purchase of what you want.

Is the steering wheel mahogany as well...if so, I have NEVER seen a good wrap on something like that (you will feel the seam).

I have been looking for mahogany trim (I even have a WTB ad), but apparently it is different on the dash between 991.1 and 991.2 and I need the latter. The console trim is the same I understand. Note, if you have it on the doors, it is not easily removable or replaceable so you would have to wrap it (which should be easy) or spring for the MA Carbon caps. The rest is very easy to swap so I am told.

I am not satisfied with wrap on the interior. I would sell it and buy something else, or have it carbon fiber covered, or paint it

I bought the car! Mahogany and all.

I'm thinking of the below anthracite carbon fiber to wrap over the wood. Any thoughts on how this would look with the aluminum already on some parts (steering wheel, shifter) of the interior? Car is black on black, and steering wheel is NOT wood. Sport steering wheel with aluminum on it.

Congrats...and pics of the car when you get a chance.

Live with the car for a couple weeks. You may come to the decision that the mahogany is fine.

I love the mahogany trim. I would definitely keep it. I actually wish i had it on my GTS. Congrats on the new 911.

Thanks, but I am not a wood trim guy. Total subjective thing, so nothing wrong with people that like it. Just a preference. But I have never liked wood trim in sports cars.

Just trying to decide if I wrap with that anthracite cf I linked or a brushed aluminum. Not sure how brushed aluminum would look against the smooth aluminum I already have on some parts of the interior.

I’d get rid of it vs wrapping... if you wrap you’ll always know that ugly wood trim is underneath there.
