Default 991 Front End Clunk

Hi.
I have a 2015 991. I've got a front-end 'clunk' and wondering if others have had the same issue.
Situation:
- after the car is sitting for an extended period of time (e.g. all day or overnight)
- after I pull out of the garage or parking spot, and at a slow speed after I set the wheel straight and go 10-15 ft
- I get a slight 'clunk' coming from the front end. I don't feel it in the wheel.
- I haven't left at the dealer overnight for them to replicate, though they did look when I went for an inspection and they did not visually see any issue
- I know its not 'tire scrubbing'...I've gotten that and it's a different feel and sound

Thanks in advance for any insights.

Search the "acorn" effect.

Manual?
C4 or C4S?

Thanks for posting. This is a Targa 4s, manual. No PDCC. I know it is not the 'acorn' effect (what I refer to as scrubbing)

I have been dealing with an occasional clunk that the dealer can't replicate. Happens sporadically driving over bumps and when I back out of my steep driveway and onto the street. Though I can definitely feel my clunks through the steering wheel ever so slightly. This is completely different and in different situations than the acorn effect. Dealer inspected the front suspension and found nothing. Ugh.

I have the same occasionally.

But the car has to be out of wack a good bit. I'm thinking it's just a spring unloading from it's perch. It's happened about 5 times in 4 years.

I had a similar issue in my car. It was a slightly loose nut in the suspension that was moving enough to cause a clunk.

You might have already done this, but did you check to see if there is anything loose in the frunk? I had a new rattle/squeal recently in my car and when I finally went to investigate it, it was a staple gun I had left on the backseat floorboard.....lol

LOL....I was just glad I didn't take it to the dealer before investigating myself. Would have lost all credibility with my SA.
