I guess I am a terrible negotiatior as I essentially got nothing off my 2019 GTS... I actually left the dealer feeling honored I even got an allocation! When I hear folks talking about getting 5-10% off a GTS it makes me want to leave California... but I guess I will pay the premium for all year round driving.

However if the discounts are real? then maybe next time I will shop out of state.

You are correct, I have bought out of State before and this time it worked out in State - if anyone is looking to order a car I can give you a contact that I have here in FL for a nice discount and it can be delivered anywhere via Courtesy Delivery.

I’ve heard allocations are hard to come by and you might get a small discount (I was offered 5k off)

A dealer can submit a sold order at any time, even if they do not have an allocation. That is what I did and within 2 weeks the order was picked up by Porsche and I now have a December delivery. Granted it depends on the dealer that submits the order since those that sell more cars get preferred treatment.

Are you guys seeing these 5% discounts on orders or off the lot?

(Clarification - “discount on new build order 2019 GTS)

I am curious to hear from anyone that got a discount on a 2019 GTS in California. I lock my build next week... has anyone managed to negotiate any free add ons at this stage? Thanks

The discounts I mentioned are for ordering a car. Negotiating a discount on a new car on the lots would depend on how long it has been there, whether the warranty was punched (for cars that they have had a while), etc.

Bob Z, you are correct, lots of things enter into a negotiated price. As I remember, Doc fees in California are $80, but run several thousand in Florida. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct - no limit to the amount a dealer can charge for their fee. Some dealer charge as high as $895 but keep in mind that everything is negotiable but most still require their fee to be paid and when so they will just discount the car by that amount during negotiations. Needless to say it is always the bottom line that matters!

I found it kind of fun/rewarding shopping cross country. Learned a bit and overall had a great experience with the paperwork and shipping.
Niello is horrible!! I live in Sac and ended up getting mine at Porsche DTLA, working with Elvis Badal was a great experience and received a healthy discount on an ordered car.

My FL dealer contact just got a bunch of allocation, all discounted of course.

And Beverly Hills Porsche (Brandon Rapp SA) backed out of the 6.5% discount and made up a few stories as to why he could not offer it, which was in writing. He initially said he did not get the allocation but my local dealer told me they had one and when I told him I found out he had it he said someone else was getting it, for a much smaller discount I assume. Luckily my FL contact came through for me.

When I couldn't find a car I wanted in NorCal, I found one at the dealer in Pasadena. Will say that handled me in a very fair and professional manner.

You’ll hear a lot of things on Internet forums, and maybe 1% of it is true, especially when people brag about their huge discount. Porsche dealers have no reason to discount a GTS.

I found that discounts vary from state to state - supply & demand I guess. If people really want a nice discount they can order from out of state and get it via courtesy delivery near them. But I did not hear anyone offer 8% or more.
