Default 991.2 Carrera Fabspeed ECU Tune

Are you getting the full potential out of your 991.2 Carrera?

Whether your car is completely bone stock, or you have made multiple modifications, our 991.2 Carrera Tune achieves this by optimizing the engine’s air/fuel ratios, timing, boost pressure, and more.

We have put in countless hours testing on the Dyno to ensure the highest quality results. As you can see in the Dyno Chart below, done by a third-party vendor, this tune provides performance gains of +74 WHP and +129 ft/lbs of TQ.

This upgrade requires you to send us your ECU for re-programming. The ECU will be tuned within 24-48 hours of receiving it and Fabspeed will then ship back the ECU for a very simple reinstallation; no modifications to the vehicle are necessary.

ECU Tunes are available for completely stock cars, or for cars equipped with Sport Cats, Catbypass Pipes, X-Pipe Exhausts, upgraded turbos, and more.

Thanks for sharing. I assume this was on a base 991.2 Carrera? Can you post results for a 991.2 GTS?

The image you posted is very low resolution and difficult to read some of the data... do you think you could repost a less compressed/higher resolution copy?

Also, if any changes are made to the setup (say X51 turbos), the ecu would need to be sent back to Fabspeed again for a tune update?

Never mind... here's a more legible version from your website.

Compared to stock, is the air fuel ratio leaner, richer, or about the same?

I have a 17 991.2 GTS and would really be interested in info on tune and dyno for this spec too. Essentially, I want to do ecu tune and cat bypass, but getting any recent info is NOT easy!

Phil From Fabspeed.
This dyno was completed on a Carrera T. As for the air to fuel ratios that is more on the proprietary information and I can not give that out. I am sorry.

BS stick a sniffer in the tailpipe and post the results. Before I would do a tune I would want to know if the WHP is being made by running lean.

85gold,

I can see why you would feel that way, however, this is not our decision alone this is out of respect for our tuner and the professional relationship that we have. Tweaking those ratios is the core part of what his business is. I’m sure you could see why a Chef would not share the recipe to their famous sauce and this along those same lines.

I can absolute assure you that all of our tunes are reliable and safe for the vehicle. Our tunes are on the conservative side – we are not trying to take these vehicles to the brink of what they and their driver can handle – we are trying to safely and reliably get more out of the car and make it drive better overall. We have tens of thousands of tunes on the road and are not aware of any damage to a car that was caused by our tune.

If you’d like to discuss this in length you are welcome to shoot me a PM or give me a call.

It is completely ridiculous that an A/F ratio is "proprietary" information. Anyone that has their car dyno-ed after a tune can put sniffer in there get the info.

This makes zero sense.

There is simply no need to keep this type of info a secret.

Does Cobb or GIAC disclose A/F ratios?

Agreed. AFR, timing, and boost can all be measured with relatively rudimentary equipment. There’s nothing stopping a customer from obtaining that data on their personal vehicle and posting it.

Cobb does, and did for their tune on the 991.2. Check out their thread in this site.

I agree. Not asking for the exact fuel maps, just whether it generally runs richer or leaner than stock. This would be obvious from running the car after the tune, so it's neither a secret nor proprietary. Most people would want to know this before spending $2k.

Yet despite that you don't offer a warranty? If out of tens thousands of cars none have suffered any damage, then the cost of a warranty would be zero. And by offering a warranty you'd increase sales. Something doesn't seem right.
