Default 991.2 GTS Targa Exhaust Goals - Remove Pops & Crackles

Hi all,

I'm shopping around for a new car and have pretty much settled on a 991.2 Targa GTS Manual. I'm in love with every aspect of the car except the noise. I want something loud (incredibly loud) BUT I really do not like all the pops and crackles. Is it possible to get an exhaust system/map set up like this? I know it's possible for tuners to map IN pops and crackles so why not remove?

This video is great -
- however, I'm not sure if there are no pops because the car is not in sport mode.

In short, my question is can the pops & crackles be removed with a map/exahust.

Thanks in advance

Really?! That simple?! That's awesome thanks for the quick response.

A quick side note... Really not a fan of auto blip, is this off in Sport/Sport+ mode too??

Thanks again

Also off in 'normal' mode, too. Porsche calls it 'backfire,' and it's only enabled in Sport.

This is fantastic news -- I also find the flatulence annoying and silly. In the .2's, can you turn off the radio and AC auto-on when you start the car? I am about ready to get rid of my .1 over this. It's driving me crazy, and the fact that it cannot be disabled is an insult from Porsche to its customers. I paid for the goddamned car, I shouldn't have radio and AC forced on me when I don't want it.

If you find a way to do it, please share it here. My 981 Spyder does it as well, and drives me batty every time I start it. I once heard a story here that it was a safety measure designed to create positive cabin pressure (in order to ensure that an exhaust leak doesn't kill the occupants). No idea if that's actually true.

Not sure about radio but CAN confirm that YES the AC can be set to off at start. (Its how mine is setup)

I just set my seat, mirrors, temp controls, to what I want and then do the (set 1, pause....set key) and it saves for me.

No issues at all, always starts with AC off. In addition I made the mistake of doing the (set 1, set key) after making a minor mirror adjustment while my AC was on and car started to start up with AC on. So just switched the AC off and went through the save sequence again and all good.

991.2 GTS with keyless entry and drive.

That is not true, no way no how.

Re the radio/AC, I've searched and searched and read a million threads about this annoying feature of the .1, and there is no way to disable it. It's ridiculous.

It must have been disabled in .2 then, because I don’t have AC at start either.

What about radio? That's more annoying than AC, IMHO.

Set the music source to bluetooth, if you aren't streaming from your phone it will be silent. I actually find it annoying that sometimes it auto plays spotify from my phone and other times not - just silence until I open spotify from my phone.

Thank god indeed! How can the auto blip be turned off? From my research it seems turning off the traction control will do it but I don't want to be that brave all the time!

OK, I have a unicorn....my radio and A/C are off at startup. When I purchased the car I did the memory key thing where you set it up the way you want it when that key is used to unlock the car. So mirrors, seats, radio, A/C, etc are remembered.

Can't be that simple....or maybe it is.

Alright, I'm going to try that explicitly when I pick the car up later this week (I hope). Will report back.
