I have Bug Marks all over my front End of my Turbo - They seemed to be stained into the plastic. I've tried hot water, tons of soap and scrubbed and nothing came out.....

Should I try some rubbing compound will it damage the PFF?

I really really want to remove the PFF totally. I'm sick of it.

Try Tarminator. I don't know how bad yours is, but Tarminator has worked on my clear bra. Trick is to remove bugs as soon as possible so they don't etch in.

you can try this stuff - spray on liberally and let it sit for 5 min - then try. Won't affect PPF.

I've had good luck with it.

Once you get the old bugs and stains out, you need to put a coating on your PPF to make the next removal process easier. A nano coating, RejeX, something.

This stuff also works, too.

Depending on the extent of the damage to the PPF, you may not be able to correct it. In some cases, bugs will etch the PPF if you don't clean them off very quickly, resulting in permanent damage to the film. This happened to the PPF on my wife's Audi after a summer drive through the midwest. She waited a couple of days before she cleaned the car, and it was too late by the time she did.

I certainly wouldn't use rubbing compound, you don't want to scuff/erode the top layer of the PPF any further.

Heat may help if your PPF is a self-healing one. Try parking it facing the sun on a hot day for a couple of hours or more.

I also use the Xpel PPF Sealant on my Suntek PPF, figuring that a product made specifically for PPF is probably the safest way to keep it sealed and resistant to such things.

I would wash it with soap or simple green, then wax it. any wax. The wax should fill the stained or degraded spots. Dont compound it unless you are ready to take it off

I use it on my PPF and it does wonders.
However, I have not confirmed yet if the PPF manufacturer approves it.
I have never had any issues though.
I used it all the time on my PPF on my previous white GT4 at the track. It cleaned bugs and black marks off that nothing else would touch.
I used to use it all the time on my motorcycle helmet and shields, then started using it almost everywhere. Its not cheap but it works incredibly well.
Try it - you wont be disappointed.

In the same boat—although we have more bugs in the Bay Area than you do in Los Angeles, it seems, and we both have to deal with a LOT of bugs if we head between LA and SF or to places like Thunderhill.

I'd love to hear more from PPF owners/users on the subject of bugs. Had a black press car with pre-cut kit years ago and didn't wash the bugs off right away. When I did a day or two later, the bug splatter was etched into the PPF. I have been reconsidering my position on PPF lately. but having to wash the front end or live in fear of bug etchings in the PPF if I don't serve the PPF daily or right after every drive doesn't appeal.

Are some PPF better than others in this regard? Are there any coatings that help here? Would love to hear from installers and owners...

Would you rather have paint chips?
My Spyder doesnt have PPF and I really wish it did! Paint chips - especially on black paint - really suck!
I would rather have etched PPF than paint chips.
However, I am telling you that Plexus works wonders.
If you are going to leave bugs on the paint for many days I dont know if anything will work but if its a matter of a few days, I have had no issues.
