I contacted my dealer. They sell GIAC and he said the engine if warranty by GIAC. It’s covered. I’m talking to get more details. It sounds like they sell it and will cover the vehicle. For $2200 jumping to 525, I will added it.

I test drove a 2017 Targa S that has the GIAC tune, but also Fabspeed headers and hi-flow Cats (Porsche Melborne FL). I did not have a chance to test the additional power but they did tell me that they would have to prove the aftermarket items caused a failure to deny warranty for the tune or parts, but they did say the Porsche does not warranty the car if just the tune caused a problem.

I’m sure initially if you had a problem, GIAC would say not due to the tune, we’re not covering and Porsche would say it’s due to the tune, we’re not covering. However by law Porsche would be obligated to prove that it is due to the tune to deny covering, and if they did you should be able to use that against GIAC.

It’s probably all academic though since if the engine craters it’ll likely be after the warrenty period expires so it’ll just be up to the poor schmuck that has the car at that time to cover.

Thats a lot of he said she said, where your car is out of commission for a potentially long period of time.

True, and even in the case of the IMS blowup I had that was totally stock and in warranty, I was without the car for a long time.
