The only tunning which guarantees factory warranty is the next model in the range up to GT2 RS.

All the other intermediate steps based on individual companies guarantees but obviously not factory warranty.

If Champion fully warranties a GIAC tune my next Porsche will be through them.

My dealer has this too. Said he would still honor warranty work, showed me the Champion motorsports menu as above... I dunno man. So tempting.
The first guy that has a warranty claim will find out the real answer.

It's not a full warranty, it's a limited warranty which basically gives them enough wiggle room to deny almost any claim...

Never said I wouldn't, just trying to guide others not to expect it's going to cover warranty claims....

fair enough, not a full warranty but it’s better than nothing I guess.

Idk. When it comes to tuning, I'm more concerned about the performance gains then the warranty (mainly cuz you're going above the factory defined tolerances for use and reliability cycles). GIAC tune under warranty seems great imo, given the gains. Seems like a better deal than what Dinan does with BMWs nowadays.

But if I was going to tune, warranty wouldn't be a priority.
Just my 2cents.

The warranty will be through the dealer not Porsche AG. No way they will do that, back a warranty on a tuned car that isn't their tune and they didn't get paid for. My dealer used to install Giac tunes for customer cars and backed them but Porsche themselves was not providing warranty on tuned cars. They have since moved to Cobb.
Porsche backing the tune Is a dream not reality. I have the Cobb tune in my TTS and I know if I have a tune related issue I'm flying solo. That is why choosing your tuner partner carefully is important.

+1 I have a Cobb tune on my 991.2 GTS but I know that if my engine craters because of the tune I’ll be pulling out my checkbook. BTW, the fu**ker is a rocket!

It was implied somewhere else that the Cobb tune was preferable because of no ECU removal, however, according to their website they also need you to ship the ECU to them to "unlock" it.
Is that a new thing maybe? flickroll?

For the 991.2's, for now, the ECU needs to be sent to Cobb to 'unlock' it. Once that is done there is no further need to remove the ECU and you can change tunes at will. I believe Cobb is working to accomplish the goal of no need for the 'unlock'. However from what I understand Porsche has .2 ECU security set such that that might not ever happen or it will be a while, who knows. For models 991.1 and older, no need for an unlock. I had a Cobb tune on my Macan S and that ECU did not need to be removed and 'unlocked', and the tune essentially turned the car into a Macan Turbo. I would love to drive a Macan Turbo with a Cobb tune (might need a neck brace). 'Unlocking' is a 991.2 thing, as well as 718's.
