I got both my macan turbo (used) and carrera T at motorwerks. I worked with Salmaan (also a rennlist member). Good experience both times.

Depends how much they dropped the price to begin with. They usually have more room if its a newer listing. They tend to drop the price more aggressively if its bee sitting for a month or two. They are usually very competitive for the area

Haven’t had any good experiences with any Motor Werks dealers. Been talking with Porsche exchange for a while and they have been knowledgeable

You should look for Chris Roehm at MotorWerks. Has like 20yrs+ there and does a lot of tracking. Most knowledgeable PA I've met, and you'll never wait long for a call back if you miss him.

Here are two more to consider, that I recently learned about. No direct experience yet.:
1) Cary, IL (about 8 miles from Barrington). Manfred's. Owner is Alex. Heard good things about them,
2) Behind Fischer is a new(er) place called Lake Barrington Motorsports.

Motorwerks is ok. Talk to Ken Bettz.
Loeber or Joe Rizza Porsche are my go to dealers.
I just dropped my car off at Midwest Eurosports for an exhaust install. They are a Porsche specialist and PPIs. They're in Bensenville, so kinda a trip. But they know their stuff.

I had been dealing with Motor Werks for many years over the course of 1 Boxster S, 2 Cayman S and one Cayman Base. They were leases. After my last lease (2014 Cayman base) I decided I definitely didn't want to go with a turbo engine. I knew I wanted that natural 6, and I had the opportunity to drive a friends 86 Carrera. That was all it took. I got a 78 911 that I love more every day. I tried getting stuff done to it at Motor Works and they are just way too expensive and quite possibly under qualified. Fischer has been my shop since I got the car. They definitely know plenty and the shop is run by a father and son. I will never go to Motor Werks again for a variety of reasons. Porsche Exchange in Highland Park is a much better dealer if thats what you ever need.
