Looking at 991.1 near Alpharetta, GA. Can anyone stop by for a look?...
Hello, I am new to the forum and I am looking at buying my first Porsche. I saw a white 991S with most of my preferred options at the Jaguar North Atlanta dealership located in Alpharetta, GA.
I am located in Sacramento, CA and was hoping someone could drop by to look at it before I have a PPI done.
Does anyone have recommendations on a PPI shop and a shipping company for the cross country shipment if it all works out?
From my research on this forum is am considering the following shops for the PPI:
German Car Repair in Alpharetta
Goldcrest Motors in Kennesaw
Thank you,
David

Goldcrest is a highly respected shop in the world of Porsche race prep and trackside support. If they’ll do a PPI, I’m sure it would be high quality.
I’ll be in Alpharetta later this week. If you still need help after 7/4, shoot me a PM.

German Car Repair is near that dealership. I doubt the Jaguar dealership will be willing to take it to Kennesaw, but you can ask. I've shipped with Intercity Lines and had a great experience. They really baby the cars like they're all rare Ferraris.
If you're really serious about this car, send me a PM, and I can check it out on Tuesday. Please make sure the dealership knows I'll be coming to do that for you.

So, I noticed that the Jaguar dealership is actually one of many owned by the Hennessy auto group which also owns Hennessy Porsche, "It's also one of the many dealerships owned by the Hennessy Automobile Companies, a family owned and operated business that's been a part of Atlanta for over 50 years."
This may be a stretch, but I wonder if some sort of transfer can be done to Hennessy Porsche so that the car can be CPO and you get a nice warranty. Again, I don't know if this be done, but just making an observation, since this dealership is owned under the same umbrella as Hennessy Porsche.

Thanks for the reply and I assumed that would probably be the case after I made my post:-)

mtony just reviewed the car, then called me and sent pictures. His phone call was very detailed; I think the PPI providers can take lessons from Tony.
Tony, I can not thank you enough for looking at the car.
At his suggestion I ordered an Autocheck and found that it had been in an accident; Carfax said is was all clear. The car was actually Porsche certified after the accident.
The car has signs of a recent front end accident as the whole car has a clear bra, but there is no bra on the actual bumper section. The front panels are also slightly misaligned. The tires show clear signs of heavy track use; the track use alone would not deter me, but not with all other indications.
I will not look further into this car, but I am including information for anybody else.
