Anyone else run into this issue? My reverse lights no longer come on, nor does my aftermarket rearview camera.

My CPO warranty ended in May and the local dealer isn't very accommodating so I'm a bit stressed at the moment!

Well now your statement in there is even more true with my failure, lol. The dealer hasn't brushed me off at least, have an appointment for diagnosis on Tuesday next week.

AFAIK, that is correct.

Something to do with the transmission being put into the "R" position and not engaging a switch/spring.

Reverse gear is not affected.

I wondering if I have a similar issue. My reverse lights work and the mirror dip works but only when I manually select car's passenger side mirror. (while in reverse) Then it does its thing.

Sounds like yours is still okay - it's the reverse lights that are the dead giveaway, IMO. All you'd have to do is just park with the car in reverse, make sure it's on but not running, jump out, and verify that your reverse lights are lit up.

I'm going in on Tuesday to have this diagnosed. I'm not sure how big of a fight I'll have to put up, but fingers crossed. I did start to have weird behaviour from my reverse camera earlier this year while my CPO warranty was still valid, so hoping they might take that into consideration in this case.

I wouldn't pay 15k to fix reversing lights, dipping mirrors, or even a back up camera unless the car failed state inpsection.
