Hazard Lights constanly flashing
Hello,
My 991.1 (2012.5) has been experiencing a weird issue recently. After I drive the car and lock it, the hazards will flash. This used to occur randomly and would stop when I unlocked and relocked the car. Now, it's doing it constantly when parked. The car is stored in the winter but always on a Porsche battery tender. I was reading some threads here and some mention it might be the battery going bad, but the battery menu on the car doesn't look like the voltage is low. I have the car on a tender now so the battery doesn't die. I called for service but the dealership can't get me in until July 24th. Any thoughts on what could be wrong? Any help appreciated.

When the hazards flash, does the car lock and the alarm come on (red flashing lights on door jamb)? You might have an open circuit, and this is how the car is warning you it's not alarmed?? The open circuit could be real or an error (false positive open circuit).
I recon, the battery is a good place to start on a 2012.5 991.

So the red alarm light is not flashing?
I'd bet/guess an open circuit in a failed door switch.

My guess. Glove box. Maybe not completely closed?

You need a battery anyway so you can see if that solves it. At 6 years both my 987 and 997 started doing all sorts of strange electrical tricks. New batteries and problems gone.

I justed thought I would share my recent experience on this issue.
More often than not when I locked the car with the remote or with the lock on the door handle the parking lights would flash and not stop untill I unlocked the car again. It got so bad I had to take action.
After searching many posts about the same or similar issues I ended up ordering a new Siren. The part number is 1K8 951 605 (below is a pic of my old siren)
old siren
There is a letter (in my case it was a B) at the end of this part number. I beleive that is the version (but not certain). In any case the version on my new siren is an F.
The siren took all of 2 minites to swap out (no dealer coding required). This instantly resolved my flashing hazard light issue when the car is locked.
I think it's also worth noting Porsche wanted $402 CDN for the part. I figured since the part clearly had and Audi / VW logo stamped on it I would call them for a price. Shockingly they sold me the exact same part for only $180 CDN.
I hope this can help out the next person suffering from this issue.

Long story short: ~$40 and <5 minutes to fix.
