Default Anybody try giro-disc rotors???

My 991 4s rotors I can’t stand every time I wash the car I get that thin coat of rust and then gets all over my wheels once I start driving so I am thinking of changing my rotors and pads...any other suggestions ??..

All steel rotors do this...it’s normal...just drive the car and the layer of rust goes away on first application of brakes.

i use GiroDisc rotors because I track my car some and I can just replace the rotor rings. Mine rust up after a wash if left to sit over night...no biggie goes away when I drive the car

Same here. I have GiroDisc rotors for the same reason. They rust too when the conditions are right. I’ve never seen the rust get all over the wheels though with the stock or GiroDisc rotors.

1) MasterBlaster from Phil at Detailer's Domain. Catch one of his sales. Sign-up for his email alerts. He'll probably have a sale for the 4th Of July. One of his best sales of the year is before Christmas. I bought mine at that December sale a few years ago for about $300 and free shipping.

2) Use this:

Someone is selling a set of these rotors in the classifieds and I asked if the Girodisc rust just as bad as the Porsche OE rotors...he said they do not. I have never seen steel rotors throw so much iron dust as Porsche's do. My X3 and Acura MDX do not have this problem and they have steel rotors. Maybe it's the combination of the rotor and pad compound on the Porsche.

I have them on my car, they don't seem to rust but they are fairly new, with only 400 track miles on them, which is like 4000 street miles.

I installed GiroDisc on my car over a year ago because I too got tired of the rust and debris from the OEM brakes. As a plus, the GiroDisc rotors also save on weight with approximately 2lbs off each corner. As for rust, there is minimal to none after washing the car.

When my car is ready for new rotors I'm definitely making the switch. I like the larger diameter too.

Get the slotted only GiroDisc rotors....no need for the holes plus the crack easier than slotted rotors and every race car only uses slotted for a reason.

Hi, I have a GTS. It has the 6 pot in front 350mm and 4 pot in rear with 330 mm.
Do you have the 380 mm up grade for front and what about rear? Do we need a bracket to move the caliper and do you have those? I also have CL.

I hate the stock ones drilled. I had my car washed just twice, and either the tyre shine the used or the wheel cleaner has completely blocked all the holes like concrete.
