315/30/20 or 325/30/20
Any of you guys running these sizes on a 12 inch rear wheel? Is there a noticeable tire bulge at all? Was the driving dynamic changed? Any tramline effects? What tire size were you running up fronts?
Looking to run MPSC2 all around on the GTS but would like some more meat on the wheels. |
Hi NINO, The MPSC2 are a little meatier than the Pzero.
I run the same size 245/35/20 MPSC2 up front. They are a different shape to the Pzero. The Pzero, have like a rim protecting fold almost and then they scoop back in. Whereas the MPSC2 are almost a constant radius on the side wall. So they look a little fatter. I want to d a few more skid pan days, before I change the rear tyres. I was considering wider at the rear, however if you track, then probably best to stick with 305. 325 might be better for 1/4 though. |
I haven't found 315 Cup2s , I think they skip that size on 20's

255/325 Do you have any pics of this setup? Can you chime in on how the ride changed... Does the rear end feel heavier with those tires? How cornering and grip? Any understeer with the 255's up front? Speed-o accurate? |

Hi 4 point 0, thanks for chiming in.. Does your car catch grooves in the road and pull you in in other directions at all? If you've got some pics lying around, could you post them?
MPSC2 Front Sorry about the giant image. |

4 Point 0 GTS I still have Pzero on rear at this stage. Want to get some skids out of them, before doing the rear. |
I have run 325/30/20 on 11.5 inch rim and they looked okay ( square look).
Tirerank states these fit 11-12 inch rims.... |

Just looked and Pirelli has 315/30/20 and 255/30/20 in PZero but New Michelin only goes to 305. I dont track . I gather Michelin is much smoother? Not sure what to do here. Tempted to go wider. My OEM Pirellis aren't bad but haven't tried Michelin.
Ooooops wrong PZero......carry on........... |
The P-Zero has a new N1 tire that would be worth a try. But if this is going to be a dual use tire the MPSC2 you are going to have to use the stock front tire size.

^would like to see pics too. What are C2s like for daily driver? Not great in lots of rain I gather but amazing on dry? I've got MPSS (285/21) on my SQ5 and they are awesome.

A wider front tire will reduce understeer plus using a wider rear you would want to use a wider front.

Still interested in as much input and photos as possible. If anyone has anything else to add, please contribute! |

There is world of difference between a MPSS (Hard compound, M4 lights them up like a xmas tree). The 4S is a nice step towards the right direction but is far more street focused, and don't be fooled it is NO CUP2. If you only track once a year then go 4S. If you are a ratbag on street and track, you will love Cup 2. Best all round tyre for fast guys. Pzero is rubbish. Corsa is like a 4S. But Trofeo R is the ultimate for the track. Will last 3,000 miles on the street. Super soft and sticky. Cup 2 much better all rounder and awesome for the track. Need more convincing? What tyre comes standard on the GT3? The GT3 RS and the R and even the GT2 RS, That would be the Cup 2. They transformed my M4. I love them on the GTS and I only have the fronts. They inspire confidence. P.S. Oh wow 4 Point O, your car looks awesome. I really love the Black & White theme you have going. Those tinted windows really match the livery. Thanks for posting the pics. :roflmao: |
