Am I too paranoid with the heat in the engine bay

You need to declutter your garage. Geesh.
There is no extra heat in the engine bay. It's normal and designed that way. Don't worry about it. Worry about that pile of stuff falling on your car.

These cars run very hot. When i'd park at my dad's house, my 991 after a spirited run would heat up the garage a lot more than either of his V12 Aston Martins.

BTW, the car's found blow downwards and flush the heat down under the car and out the wheel wells. Going in this direction shown in the photo are sucking the header and exhaust parts heat up rather than away. Is up worse? I dunno, but I have to assume the engineers had it blow downwards for a reason.
The car's fans will come on if needed even when the car is off. If they aren't running then the engineers decided the cooling wasn't needed.

The fans work to re-enforce that movement when they are on.

The fans work to re-enforce that movement when they are on and the car is moving.
Too much to ask to have Porsche have them switch fan direction when the car is stopped
( although that would be the direction heat convection would want to go)..

The cord would bother me more than the heat.

By cooling the engine bay down faster than it’s designed to, what if you’re actually reducing the longevity??? (Like dumping a hot piece of metal into ice water). I know that’s extreme, but while the effect is probably very small I’d say it’s just as likely as your extra fans preserving it.

Maybe someone could produce a user adjustable thermostat that could lower the coolant temperature as you approach home.

Who here is smarter than the team of Porsche Engineers who figured this all out back in 2011?
SHOW OF HANDS PLEASE?
