Fuel Gauge Issue
I have a 3 week-old Targa GTS and I just filled it up for the second time. The fuel gauge started at about 1/4 and I put in about 12.5 gallons. As I pulled out of the gas station, I noticed that the fuel gauge was still around 1/4. I stopped the car, turned it off, restarted a few times and still the same. I went back to the gas station and went to another pump, where it only allowed me to put in another 1/5 gallon before it stopped. The range reads 70-some miles, so it too "thinks" there's only 1/4 tank left. The first time I filled it up, everything was normal. Any thoughts? Thank you

When you filled up, was the car turned off? Key in the off position? Key out of the ignition?

I haven't had a chance yet to take it in for service. I know I have nearly a full tank of gas, but the gauge keeps counting down and now is about 1/8 full and I'm getting alerts to refuel. I know I have to take it in for service as soon as I can get there, but does anyone know if the car will shut down when the system "thinks" I'm out of gas? Or given that I know I have nearly a full tank, will the engine keep running? Thank you

Three Wheelin'
Engine will run so long as there is gas in the tank. Doesn't matter what the display says, if you have gas in the tank the empty light can flash but, the car can and will run for as long as the remaining gas permits. I agree it is a sender unit and so long as it isnt the one IN the tank, its a simple repair. If the float in the tank is defective then its a big job dropping the tank to get to it. Let the Dealer deal with it..
