Thank you, kindly.

Same place that installed my PPF (Clear Auto Bra) in St Louis did the stripes based on some pics I gave them. I didn't keep it too long. They did a terrific job, but I just didn't care for it as much as I thought I would. Ended up going with the PORSCHE stripe along the bottom of the door/rocker panel. Unfortunately, I think the installer installed it a little too high. I'm likely removing it and having it installed again.

My PCA Chief Concours Judge buddy recommended Wrap Star, by Jax Wax.

Wipe on and wipe off, it looks great on my PPF. In fact I can see any difference in looks between the PPF panels and the bare paint panels. And mine is Black.

I bought some hydrosilex. Going to try it on my HRV eventually and see how it works. It doesn't have PPF though.

Anyone have thoughts on whether to use Opti Coat Pro or Opti Coast Pro "Plus"? The latter is about $400 more with what they claim is a 7 year warranty vice 5 for the other. I assume it will be hard to tell and I could not find any recommendations online but I bet someone here had the same decision to make.

What does your detailer recommend? I've had my car OptiCoat Pro done twice. It was excellent. Now I have CQuartz. Love 'em both.

More important than the Pro VS Plus is the actual detailer skill level, and the prep (correction) done prior.

The guy I am using is very good, and I shopped experience over price. I am bringing the car to him on the 28th for Suntek PPF and Opti so I will talk to him when I get there and see what he thinks.

Bob, here's what 2-year old OptiCoat Pro looks like, after just a wash. This is 2 seasons of driving, and over 24,000 miles. After this picture, the car was prepped (light 1 stage polish) and then coated with CQuartz. Picture from September 2017:

Amazing! What made you decide to do another coat after 2 years?

I keep getting asked this question.

I just like to have the car looking as perfect as possible. The coating makes the car super easy to wash, and stay clearner between washings. Between trips to my detailer (Lustr), every other year, all I have to do is wash the car, and spritz some quick detailer on it. I let my detailer (Ivan) do all the heavy lifting. To me, it's woth the $1,200 bill, and I can spend my time driving the car about 12,000 miles per season.

Here is the car AFTER a light polish paint correction, and a coat of CQuartz Pro, done in Sept 2017:

I am hoping that the Suntek/Opti will help me deal with the constant salt film from living on the beach. Unless the wind is from the west, which rarely happens, I can clean my windows and the next day I can see the film on the windows, and that is with the car in the garage. I bought a 2 gallon sprayer and have it filled with distilled water so unless the car gets caught in the rain or really dirty I am hoping I can just spray it and wipe it off in between washes, which should be easier with the Opti. SInce the "Plus" is not much more I might as well get that unless someone tells me it is a waste of money.

PS- i hope you mean 'shine' and not 'glare'. Glare sounds bad.

Bob, my advice, the less you touch the paint the better. So, unless you can properly wash the car (foam canon, lots of H2O, quality products, dry with a MasterBlaster) don't do it. Just accept the car can get diry, and then properly wash it when time allows. I think you'll find the nano coating really help to resist dirt & dust.
