991.2 handling of Targa gts vs 991.2 Targa 4s

My colleague is interested in Targa but considering a 4S with leather etc ( he is not an aclantara fan like me ). he does not like black wheels and i believe with GTS you are stuck with black wheels , correct?

With Rear wheel steering on both cars, is it fair to say Handling around bends and curves should be very close with targa GTS having little more urgency due to Torque/HP increases?

In summary what are the main handlng differences between the models if visual looks are not cosidered

Any one who made the switch( 4s to GTS targa or 4s cab to gts cab or the the other way around ) can provide input please ?

No input on the actual question, but you can order a GTS with wheels painted silver or body color; this forces you into the Carrera S wheel (instead of the Turbo S), but it is an option, and looks great.

Dhirms,
O yes , that is an Option , never occurred to me that painted silver is a 0 cost option on S wheel if black wheels are not preferred - Thank you

No difference if similarly equipped from a performance option standpoint. The GTS will just have more power.

I read somewhere but do not remember which magazine article / online that the GTS over S has
A) Better steering feel
B) PSE is little louder ( side effect of less insulation , maybe ?) PDK is more precise/faster- not sure if this is true and what precise means in PDK box?

The below was also said which i am inferring that it is for RWD S vs RWD GTS -
A) Wide body provides less body roll and better grip at the rear
B) Wide Chasis uses the extra power and torque better -more traction

4S is also wide body -- other points may be true.

At risk of stirring up the hornet's nest, I'll point out that GTS is a more desirable model, and will hold it's value better on the resale side, over 4S, all else equal.

I bought a Targa C4S instead of a GTS for the same reason as your friend. And I wanted a specific interior and specific wheels. I also ordered it with the PowerKit, so essentially a GTS to my specs. Difference in handling vs a GTS? None. I’ve driven both.

GTS better resale? Who knows? Bought it to drive it, not sell it.

Also, if the color of the centerlock wheels is a concern, it's easy to paint or refinish them (several here have done that).

All Targas are AWD. The 4S is sufficient w/ the Powerkit and other upgrades.

I'm all for saving money and benefit from better resale but in this case I also built Targa4S + powerkit vs GTS. Its my daily driver and had fun building to my specs and couldn't be happier with the result.

Great minds, yada, yada, yada...
